Was he mal-treated as a child or something? He just uses emotive language to convince the viewer that his stupid right wing views are right. I am English but I spent a year in the US.

He's an employee of the Fox News network and he was specifically hired to act the way he does. Fox News has a specific political ideology that they promote and Bill O'Reilly does a great job promoting their agenda. His strongarm tactics are rewarded by viewers who see them as assertive or manly or right (even if they are rude or illogical) and by the network. Ratings are driven by spectacle and Bill O'Reilly provides it. It's not like he was hired for his etiquette-- he was hired because he's good at preaching to the choir and cutting off dissenters or would-be trespassers.

I think he is amazingly smart and right about 99% of the time. All people can do is criticize him (like yourself) but would not last 10 seconds arguing with him because he is so smart and correct. It's amazing how everyone I know who dislikes him tries to find character flaws in him but not against his beliefs. You people resort to name-calling, and you wonder why you are mad all the time at politics. Good luck in trying to demean someone else's character, through demeaning your own.

There was an article about him in The New Yorker that I agree with...they basically said that he hates the liberal elite because he wants to be like them so badly.

It's a case of envy, basically.
