Pittsburgh, PA, Wilkinsburg Borough. Our house was assessed at $112,000 and we pay $485 per month in property taxes, for a total of $5820 per year.

Can anyone beat that? We're discussing moving two blocks to another borough, which could save us several thousand dollars every year in property taxes (but may be balanced by higher income taxes).

Katy, Texas (just outside of Houston): Real estate taxes are 3.9% of property value. We pay around $8,000 per year. But there's no state income tax in Texas, so they have to make up for it somewhere.
