Nope. The companies are making more profit by having lower wages. They'd just pay the fine using the money they made off the cheap labor and still have additional money. If they're a big enough company, they won't even see the fine for years because it'll be tied up in the courts. Like you said, they'd just send their jobs to other countries. The only people the fines would hurt would be us. We'd see higher costs for products and fewer jobs.

We are a nation of laws, without laws we would have a society in total chaos; laws should be enforced.

Therefore any employer knowingly hires an illegal alien, should be held accountable.( i.e. fined, and possible jail time..for repeat offenses.)

The best way to solve this problem is for our government to get serious about securing our borders.(number one job of the federal government is to protect the borders and citizens)

As for jobs being sent overseas; I agree that NAFTA, has been a failure.(NAFTA, was suppose to help Mexico's economy/citizens, by providing jobs, therefore making it less appealing to cross over the border into the US, seeking employment.) Majority of the companies who left the US and set up businesses in Mexico, have moved on to China, where they could get work done cheaper.

I am tired of hearing how the "illegal immigrants" are such hard workers, and that they only take jobs,Americans will not do...(rolls eyes) Many of these illegals are not working the "fields," they have moved on to manufacturing,construction and tourist jobs.

Bottom line, they are in our country...ILLEGALLY, which makes them a "CRIMINAL."

I am an employer in the USA and no I don't think we should lock employers up. I do think the country should fine those who hire illegal aliens though.
