What's the best way to volunteer my time as an antiwar activist in Berkeley?

The best way to support our troops is to bring 'em home.

Thanks to all the peace haters who have answered so far - you're motivating me even more to get involved in the antiwar movement.

For the record, I am NOT a student at Berkeley (I just live near there).

In Berkeley, walk out the door and ask the nearest protester.

I am against war as much as anybody - BUT - I have the sense to know, when aggressive nations, groups or indivisuals are dominating others - YOU CANT HAVE FREEDOM unless SOMEBODY fights for it.

To attain peace in a violent world - ironic as it is - a nation has to be ready to meet the threat and defeat it. Just a small example - go deep into gang turf at night with signs "Down with violence" - "Keep Drug Wars off Our Streets". If you make it through the night without being beat up, hospitalized or murdered - get down on your knees and thank God.

They don't care if you are unarmed or armed. To certain mind sets in the world, a weak country is ripe for the taking and you can stand all day throwing flower peddles it makes no difference.

Good men have died so that YOU can go out in the streets and play games with painted signs. If not for Soldiers of War - you would not be under the freedom you now have to protest. You would be either goose-stepping from Hitler University to your house or bowing several times a day to the Japanese Emperor and polishing Japanese shoes.

Think About it.

You'd be a real small fish in a big pond. Antiwar activists are about the only thing that the USC-Berkeley campus graduates.

By skateboarding or playing basketball or going to the beach with friends and being a kid, which is the freedom we are fighting for, the ability to go to the mall without fear of bombings. Enjoy the freedoms while you still have them, because if the anti-war fanatics have their way, the Islamic extremists won't let you go to the mall without wearing body armor. Those people want you dead, whether they have "weapons of mass destruction" or not... and let's be clear on this... a machine gun or a grenade, if it's in the hands of someone who wants to kill as many people as possible is a WMD. If it's your family that gets killed, how much more does it take before it's "mass destruction"???.. how many people need to die from suicide bombings before we realize that those people have to be stopped and they won't stop with words and they won't stop until they are dead (or we are)... they aren't an angry group of Girl Scouts who will stop if we threaten to take away their cookies.... they won't stop just because we stop fighting, they'll just keep going, on and on... So what was your case AGAINST the war? Because you've got to convince THEM or it doesn't stop... If we stop it just makes us sitting targets, a nation waiting to die. See how well France is doing with the peace thing? Nicht sehr gut!!!

Im not sure about all that but I do want you to ask you to support our troops.Bash the President or what ever you feel the need to do.Just dont lay the blame on our troops.My brother is there.I hope he doesnt come home in a body bad.Thanks

Try directing traffic on rte 880. Just stand in the second from right-hand lane (those on the extreme right won't listen to you) and get them to move left.

Become a minuteman to protect our borders...then we won't have to go to war to get rid of terrorists that strike our country.
