Actually, Ebenezer Scrooge's concept of Christmas was about the same as the Puritans'. From 1659 to 1681, Christmas was outlawed because it had become a symbol of English decadence. They knew that Jesus wasn't actually born on December 25, but that the holiday had been moved there to compete with pagan solstice festivals. December 25 was to be spent as a day of hard work and reflection, like every other day in a Puritan's life.

In fact, between Washington Irving and Charles Dickins, it seems that most of the "ancient customs" of Christmas were invented in the 19th Century.

There is no such thing as a typical atheist so whatever the picture looks like, I guess the answer is: No, because it is not possible to have an image of the "typical atheist".

It is unknown whether or not Scrooge was an atheist. The thing that he lacked most was empathy, which is the cornerstone of atheist worldviews.

Not only are you nasty, you don't even understand what you're talking about.

If you look deep into the bible, I doubt your religion wants you to spend time pointing out athiests. It seems to me that Jesus went to all the trouble he did not to only point out atheists, but to make them believe and convert them into what he wanted them to believe. You should go back and study your religon to be able become the Christian that you seem to want to be.
