I want to turn my guest room into a dressing room but have a fold-down bed. I'm thinking of having everything hidden behind a wall of light green frosted glass. What do you think? (Honestly)

It's a good space saving idea and I can only think of one consideration you need to give for it. Do you intend that the bed be used by anyone on a frequent basis? Or maybe it's going to be behind the wall as a reserve place for someone to sleep, maybe a visiting relative for a few days at a time. If there was some regularity it's use, I think I would want to visit a show room and sit/lay on the bed to test it's comfort. Sometimes things that fold away have other features that the owner may not like, but didn't think about. I do not have personal knowledge of the bed you seek. It's just that if I was considering it, I'd like to actually see and feel the product before going to the expense of installing it.

Fold-down or "Murphy" beds can be very practical and just as comfortable as a regular bed. I have been a guest at a home where the host had a fold-down queen-sized bed and I thought it was very cool. The whole unit was concealed behind a wall of paneled doors and it had built-in bookshelves and night-stands on either side.

Of course, the key is the quality of the mattress. I would only do a fold-down if I could use a regular mattress. Construction is another issue. There are do-it-yourself kits available, but it sounds like you want a professional installation. Be prepared to spend a few thousand bucks.

I dont know about that one...I got a fold out bed from a yard sale once, has wheels on it and when i took ti hoem and took the mattress off the clean it, it was clean on the top and under it was a HIGE blood stain. I freaked out like someone had been murdered on it or something and threw it away/ Now when I see fold out beds I freak and would never sleep on one.
Sounds like your idea might be a little pricy but if you can afford it, go for it.

If you mean a Murphy Bed. Their great. Had one for years. Your frosted glass idea sounds really nice. And the bed will always be there if needed. Have fun with your decorating.

These beds were really popular in the 60s they are called Murphy Beds. They are an interesting addition to a house and with smaller spaces and better technology they are a better alternative than they used to be. http://www.americanwallbed.com/ has some interesting ones.

I think that it makes sense for your home, and it's clever to hide the bed behind something that you'll enjoy looking at. Sounds perfect!
