"The garden" from Woodstock by Joni MItchell, refers to the end of the book Candide, by Voltaire, where the protagonists, after having discovered that this is not even close to the best of all possible worlds finally spent their time in the garden, where they worked and made a reasonable, if not particularly exciting, life for themselves.
We get "back to the garden", when we simplify our lives and turn our backs on our "devils bargain" of technology and war and progress and realize that in the end we are only stardust.

I was reading that part of the book to the girls this morning LOL !!! We have lost that garden=== and it really pisses GOD off really bad too=== I think it was near the gasa strip === And I think we should take a long hard look , all sit down and make a good plan to rebuild/ replant and make that sucker really grow!!!If we all pitch in it will grow all the peace and love we will ever need===what is the worst that would come of that??? Put a smile on GODs face=== or at the very worst make a better place for our children to live in?

Sin got us cast out of the garden. We will return to the garden after us Christians are raptured and the Lord destroys all sin, and we shall have once again, heaven on earth just as it was in the garden of eded.

We can! The 'garden' is symbology for the perfection of life before corruption.
That perfection is ours again for the taking just as soon as we choose to live life in a perfect way.

A reference to the Garden of Eden. Perhaps you got the line from the song "Woodstock" by CSN&Y?

do you mean the Garden of Eden?
It was designed originally so that life on earth would be as that in heaven.
