Does this mean she doesn't think it's serious? Is it just her being nice? Should I worry or not? Am I stressing too much over this?

her actions prove that she is a strong and independent woman...that could be a good thing...if you play your cards right...i am the same exact way...this girl does not want you to think that you have to take care of her...it proves that she did not go out with you because she "needed" to...it proves that she does things because she "wants" to...stop worrying...you should feel honored that you have met a feisty one...they are much more fun...lol...however, i can also tell you that these kinds of women...the ones who go out of their way to prove that they don't need a man...are slow to trust...be patient...be gentle...send flowers...do little romantic things for her...stop stressing...unless of course you actually allowed her to pay for her half...PLEASE tell me that you did not let her!!!...i can tell you from experience that it was a test...to see if you would let her...even though she is strong and independent...what all women want is to be made to feel like a women in the arms of a strong and patient man...don't forget that...if you let her pay...i suggest you immediately send her flowers asking her out on another date...stating that it will be your treat this time...woo her...trust me...it works...good luck to you

She's just being nice and yea, you are stressing too much. haha. I hope you offered to pay everything though. It's nice for a girl to take a guy out every once in a while and pay for it, but all the time, say no. Let her offer when to take you both out. Never let her pay for half. And if she does, find some way to pay her back. <3.

Dont stress about it. I always at least offer to pay for my half on the first date. Take it as a sign that she is independant and considerate, not that she does not like you.

YOU are stressing too much
she didn't want you to think she was incapable of paying for herself and that she was a modern girl ...I think she was trying to tell you she wants to take it slow which is why she wants to show she can keep her independance, perhaps next time you invite her out say you would like to treat her if she freaks out she is really not ready to have a relationship with you

You're stressing too much.
There could be a number of reasons.
She may have been out with jerks in the past that felt she was obligated to have sex, cause they bought her dinner.
She may be an indpendent person, not wanting to feel like she can't pay her own way.
She may have just been trying to be polite.
Ask her out again...if she says yes, than she likes you so don't worry about it.

I agree with dooneygirls.....she probably just doesn't want you to think that she is one of those that is looking for a guy to just spend money on her......I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Call her up and ask her out again and tell her that you want to treat her to a nice date....I'm sure that everything will be fine. Let us know the outcome....I'll be curious to know.....sounds like a great girl to me!

She wanted you to say that she doesn't have to pay her half of the food and that you would pay for the both of you. If you take a girl on a first date you are supposed to pay the bill.
P.S : your not that experienced are you?

You are stressing too much over this.

In a society where men and women are supposed to be equal, her behavior was logical.

But I would still pay the whole bill(as long as I would afford it)

Well, I dated a guy and I wanted to pay for my stuff because I only looked at him as a friend. Maybe she sees that too.
