Yes, it is. There's a rule which says that when a noun ends with -f or -fe, in plural form -f/-fe is replaced by -ves:
leaf - leaves
knife - knives
wife - wives
loaf - loaves
Of course, when there's a rule, there's also an exception:
roof - roofs
clif - clifs
dwarf - dwarfs
chief - chiefs
belief - beliefs
...and double plural forms as in
hoof - hoofs or hooves
scarf - scarfs or scarves, etc.

Yes, it is. "Leaves" has 2 different meanings in English.
a) It is a plural word for leaf.
b) It is a present tense for 'leave', which means going away. For example; John leaves for London at 12.35pm.
It has various meanings, I dont teach English but i speak it everyday so it makes sense well enough of which it means when it comes to term in conversation.

Leaves is also an action word, as in "Harry leaves the office every day at 5". So used this way, the sigular of Leaves is left, As in, "my mind left me when I learned English". LOL
