Usually, under normal circumstances, this is not possible if you died in your sins. You can not repent after the fact. When we repent, we must be able to speak it, or at least think it. (Yes, the muted tongue can be saved too).
Under abnormal circumstances, and I have heard of people who died on the operating table for minutes and were revived, and could speak again. This would be called a second chance at life. Only people blessed to go through such a thing, could get salvation after they were actually dead, but they must be revived to the point of being able to speak.

If you believe in Biblical New Testament Christianity teachings, "salvation" requires a few things to occur in order to receive it. You have to believe in God and Christ which means that before you can believe it you must hear about it. The act of repentance or changing one's way and following Christ is what follows hearing and believing. Confession or taking personal responsibility of past wrongs or sins is necessary and a natural part of the progression to salvation. The action part of salvation is a result of the preceding, the act of faith, that being baptism which is the act of obeying God and following the example of Christ in His obedience to God when John baptized him.
People who are dead can do none of the above. Therefore it requires a living person making a conscious decision. Hope that gives you something to research and study. You may verify all my comments in the New Testament gospels and writings of the apostles.
***No disrespect to the writer regarding Islam, but why are Sunnis killing Shiites, are they too not believers? Why are there factually different sects of Islam if Islam uses only one unchanged message? Reality is against your statements.
The Koran was not written by Muhammad but after his death by others with some of his ideas and thoughts mixed with their own. I also find the message of hatred and absolute control that Muslims exhibit towards non-Muslims- and other Muslims no way to win converts. Christianity requires voluntary servitude and obedience. Interesting also is that Christians and Jews say that "I will die for my beliefs", and that Muslims say that "You will die for my beliefs." Quite a difference here, to my understanding.
But mostly, your reply did not address the writers question as I understood it. I also have enjoyed sharing views of others on the specific topic as I am sure others would and do.

The Bible is clear on this subject! No one can gain salvation after death. As for living a good life and doing the best we can here on earth, God does not give salvation in return for good works. Again, the Bible is clear on this issue, Salvation is gained only by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and no other way. Please read Eph. Ch4 V30 and Romans Ch.3 V22 1ST. John Ch.5 V13

Am not sure what you're asking here I guess. Do you want to know if someone after they die can get salvation? They can't then, it's too late.
Are you asking how does someone get salvation for after they die? They ask Jesus into their hearts and receive eternal life. (life after death) They will have eternal life in one place or the other. Either in heaven or hell..

Salvation after death is like taking a test, you get a 60min time limit to answer as many questions. when your times up you turn it in and pray that you answered enough to pass. Good Luck and God Bless

From what I hear, they have to listen to a presentation by the Mormon missionaries and then if they decide they like what they hear, a Mormon here on Earth has to be baptized by proxy. Then and only then can they enter Heaven, but it isn't as great as if you were already a Mormon. Or, like the other guy said, you can just donate your soul to the Salvation Army! Whichever way seems easiest to you...

Salvation isgained by doing things right while you are living, after you have departed this world, there is nothing furthur you can do to improve the way you lived. You will be judged on how your lived while you're alive.

Entrust yourself to the mercy of Jesus, and plead ignorance.
If there's more to this question than mere curiosity, drop me an email with the details. Perhaps something can be done.
