Although they vary on their opinions of what KIND of life we will discover, many scientists believe we are on the thresh-hold of discovering extra-terrestrial life. It may be microbes. It may be civilizations. Of course, we won't be able to visit them for millenia, be they microbes or intelligent beings.
But if intelligent, advanced civilizations are discovered, with or without religion, which date back thousands of years before cavemen sparked the first flame, what will be the impact on earth-based religion? Are there some religions that could handle it better than others? What if the ET religions make more sense, and span a doctrinal understanding of many ET civilizations? What if they claim that THEIR Savior is OUR Savior? Their Lord, our Lord? And OUR understanding LIMITED until combined with THEIR understanding.
This is all hypothetical. I'm not trying to offend. But frankly, trite, unintelligent remarks will come from those who would likely lose their faith first - IMHO

I was looking for an answer to the question, but as usual, rather than looking at the question for its own merit, some dismissed it completely, and provided a rant on theological theory. Specifically, should the events theoretically arise, as outlined above, only the Hindu, Islamic, and Buddist faiths (as represented by the answers below) are prepared to deal with it. All-in-all, the most logical response is .....

There are many wise and intellectual in the west talk about this "new" ancient religion known as Buddhism. Which only make known to western world some decades ago.
Here is the excerpt:
The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend a personal God and avoid dogmas and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual and a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description . . . If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism.

Sounds like christians arriving in North America. Can not speculate on the alien religions but ours will divide into three groups: 1) Let's convert them, 2) They are evil devil spawn, let's exterminate them, 3) Nice to meet you.
My guess is that the various Judea-Christian-Islamic sects will fall into category 1 or 2. Buddism and Bhai would likely be in category 3.
Let's hope they do not have many category 2 fanatics.

Greetings in Christ,
In the beginning God created Heaven and Earth, Singular. This means that He did not create several Earths, which is what life on other planets would suggest. The Bible will back this up in Genisis. It does say in the Bible that in the last days there will be signs and wonders in the Heavens or in other words up in the stars and outer space. These so called ufos or aliens as the secular world calls them are nothing more than satans angels.
The correct term for them are alien entities. They come from the third of angels that were cast down from Heaven when lucifer thought he would exalt himself above God, and put himself above God, who created him. I guess he forgot who made him. His angels followed him because he was their leader. They were cast down to the earth from heaven in an instant like a bolt of lightning. God didn't put up with it very long. These people who believe in astrology or astronomy better get aquainted with the God who made there god's. For instance the stars and other planets which by the way are as dead as their religion. These planets cannot sustain life because they are either too hot or too cold and even if they did have water or oxygen could not sustain life. God made everything perfect on the Earth for this purpose. I hope this helps answer all of your questions. Let me assure you there are no micro-organisms or human life or Christians living on other planets. Only past believers in Heaven with Jesus for accepting and believing in the Blood he shed for us on Calvery to set us free from sin and save us and give us eternal life with him in Heaven. These ufo's are just demon spirits flying around in ships or whatever they use to cause fear in people and do evil. They have no where else to go because they can't go to Heaven to be with Jesus so they have to fly around in outer darkness forever until Jesus in the final Judgement casts them into the lake of fire with their leader satan for all eternity.

I believe we are the only intelligent life in the universe. There is only one God and he would have told us if we were not alone.Should there be other live with their own God they would probably be in a different dimension. And in that case we will never meet.

UFOs and all that. Great signs and wonders, so much that, if it were possible, they would fool the very elect. To all the atheists--don't you believe it!
When they say, "We're your friend." Say, Ha! I got the word about you.
