Raw hide is the worse thaing to give a pup b/c they can eaisly choke on in if they left unattended. I use to get a bone the really hard kind that has a hole in and I fill it with peanut butter. It will keep them entertained for hours. They also have a toy called a kong. You can get it at Pet Smart They come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They have a small hole in them so you can put treats inside of them, this will deep them entained also. An Occasional pig ear is ok and Horse hoaves are also a good chew toy. Also they have bil-jack liver snacks and they are a great training aid. Play with her and reward her with a treat when she isn't bitting. Eventaully she will understand not to bite and she'll enjoy that occasional treat also. Pet Smart has a great puppy training class. They teach all of the dos and dont's of puppy training. It's a great class. Good Luck

It's good to have a variety of toys so he doesn't get bored and start gnawing on the furniture. Some soft toys, mixed with some hard chewy toys is best. When you introduce a new toy, watch how your puppy plays with it. If he is chewing chunks off the hard toys, then try another, harder toy that he can't chew up. This can be a choking hazard. Some puppies will destroy the soft toys and pull out the stuffing and the squeaker. This can be dangerous, too. So if your puppy is one of these, don't let him have the soft toys until he can play with them without exploring the innards! And, of course a ball is a great toy as long as it's too big for him to swallow.

If she is a puppy, as you say, I would get a Nylabone, it last longer than rawhide. Is she going to be a large dog? You can always use Rawhide bones, but just remember, no matter how old or big she gets, don't let the rawhide get so small she can swallow it whole. She could develop a "blockage" in her intestine or stomach, and that is a big expensive surgery. A sign of a blockage can be she stops eating and stops pooping suddenly. So be on the look out for that. Another way to keep her from biting you is when she has her mouth on your hand biting it, roll her bottom or top lip just under her teeth, and squeeze down, and tell her NO BITE! This has worked with us for all of our pups.

Good Luck

I would buy her nyla bones to chew on. I would not buy raw hides because they can get a piece off that's big enough to swell up in their belly and cause bloat ($2,000.00 to remove it.). If you don't buy raw hides that are made in the U.S.A. they can be made with anthrax cattle, and make you're dog sick. I would not buy pig ears, or snouts, because they can get a piece of that big enough to cause a blockage.
If you want to buy chew toys go with nyla bones, or Kong's.
If you want to buy a tug toy but a tug toy, don't make the chew toy a tug toy. I hope this helps you. Good luck.

A small kong would work great with an agressive puppy. Put small treats in the toy, they love to attempt to remove them. A small milkbone broken in half works well.

You can look at the selection of kong toys at...

We have a little bone that's made of rope with a knots on each end. My puppy loves it because it's soft enough for him to sink his teeth into, but it still provides resistance. Also it LASTS, which is huge since he seems to destroy a lot of toys. They even have these rope bones that are flavored or made to help clean the puppy's teeth. You can grab onto one end and he can pull on the other, and there will be no problem. We got ours at Petsmart here's a website and picture http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441775823&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302026214&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&bmUID=1136861975810

make sure you have a variety of different thing for her. a puppy class would benefit her if she is acting dominate. petco and petsmart offer puppy classes, (they are kind of like kindergarten for dogs) and its just as important as obedience classes!! start her off early! you won't regret it.

also remember that puppies loose their baby teeth, and then gain adult teeth, just like humans..so something TOO hard may not be great.
something softer would help with the teething pain, that is why they bite so much anyways. just like a teething infant!

I would suggest a tug toy, like a rope. It lasts longer and your dog will probably love it

Get a varity of things for her.
Nylabones
Kong toys
I am not fond of rawhide for puppies as it can get stuck in their throat if they get a piece off of the bone. But if you are supervising her rawhide I like the pressed ones as they last a lot longer.
Pigs ears are ok but mine just eat them like a treat and they are gone fast.
