thank you for answering my Q about opening the folder in the same window? actually my folder options is set as open in the same window but it still opens a new window when i open any folder? i think it is something related to the registry! if u can help me on that i would be thankful.

yep something is wrong with your registry.
go to START, then Programs, then Accessories, then system tools. Use the system restore program to restore your computer to an earlier date.
A restore should help you instead of editing your registry. It might be the reason why you have this problem in the first place. Do not mess around with the registry or else you will have more problems. Just use the restore method or find a tweaking program that might be able to fix your registry instead.

open a page (windows page)
menu TOOLs
FOLDER OPTIONS
check BROWS FOLDERS.
change to OPEN EACH FOLDER IN THE SAME WINDOW.
