Give me some more details, i.e. type of fish size method of cooking. Salmon fillet will take two minutes in a microwave but fifteen to twenty in an oven and may be five to six on a grill or grill pan. In a grill pan cook on high heat until it is half cooked from the bottom up then turn over and cook until the edge shows it to be cooked all the way through, this also works well with fresh tuna steaks. If you are deep frying, fry in really hot oil until the fish floats, about teight to twelve minutes depending on size of fish.

you should only cook sea food till it floats then get it out and salt it quick.... if you are going to bake it take it out when it starts to fall apart.
