I know this is very long, but PLEASE BE PATIENT and read it ALL, THEN answer:

1. Willingness of Jesus Christ to Die for Our Sins:

Peter and the two sons of Zebedee were with Jesus Christ before the elders of the people and the chief priests came to take him to crucify him. Jesus at this point talked to Peter and the two sons of Zebedee as in Matthew 26:38 "Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me." Then Jesus went a little further way from them and prayed to God as in Matthew 26:39 "And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."
It is very clear from the above verse in Matthew 26:39 that Jesus had no intention of dying. In this verse it is shown that Jesus was praying strongly (Matthew mentions that Jesus repeated these prayer three time) to have this death removed from him. Had Jesus Christ been sent to be crucified he would not have hesitated to be killed at all. When I relate this to my Christian brothers, they tell me that this hesitation comes from the flesh side of him (in other words he was tempted), and that his soul which is godly does not have this hesitation at all. When we look at Matthew 26:38 we see that Jesus is contradicting this idea by saying, "My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death." (Matthew 26:38). He himself says that it really his soul that is hesitating and not his body. These are Jesus' own words.

2. God Answered the prayers of Jesus Christ:

After Jesus made the above mentioned prayer he was answered by God according to Hebrews 5:7 "Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared." These words clearly show that when Jesus was praying strongly to God, God would grant him his request. The word "heard in that he feared" (Hebrews 5:7) mean that God granted him what he requested. So the above verse shows that when Jesus asked of God to "let this cup pass from" (Matthew 26:39) him, God respond to his prayer and saved him from death or crucifixion.

3. The Post Crucifixion Prophesied Events never happened:

When the people were asking Jesus Christ if he was going to show them a sign, He replied by saying that the only sign that they should expect is the sign of Jonas. Jesus also made sure to specify what exactly this sign was. The details are shown in the following verses:
Matthew 12:38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Jesus here emphasized what will happen to him by specifically saying that he will be like Jonas in terms of the number of days and nights he will be in the heart of the earth, " For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (Matthew 12:40). Now let us see if this prophecy came to pass.
Jesus was crucified on Friday, this is certainly known among all Christians, and that is the reason for calling that Friday by "Good Friday". Jesus was buried on Friday night. Now let us start counting:
1.Friday night Jesus was buried. This is night number 1.
2.Saturday day Jesus was still in the grave. This is day number 1.
3.Saturday night Jesus was still in the grave. This is night number 2.
Mary Magdalene, very early in the morning before sun rise and after the Sabbath (Saturday), went to the see Jesus, and he was not there. The following verses relate this event:
Mark 16:1 And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
Mark 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
Mark 16:3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
Mark 16:4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
Mark 16:5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
Mark 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
The number of days and nights that Jesus had spent in the heart of the earth is 1 day and 2 nights. This clearly challenges what Jesus had prophesied. When I tell this to my Christian brothers, some of them responded by saying that what Jesus wanted to really say was that he will be gone for a while, and not that he will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights. This is clearly not the case. Had Jesus meant that, he would have said it, but it is clear that he wanted the people to know that this was a sign (miracle) and that it will be like Joans' sign, and that he will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights. These were his own words.

Please that is very long. I lost my place and now I can't answer your question. Truth is that Crucifixion is only for bad people but they put Jesus on it. That's why the Cross is a major symbol for Christianity.

Hi..a few weeks ago this was answered, and someone said that there was a double Sabbath, and it was a total of 3 days and 3 nights. But I personally cannot prove it,except by what jesus said: ....after Jesus was resurrected he mentioned that it was fulfilled that he would rise on the third day; Luke 24: 46, and that his disciples were to be a witness of it, vs. 48.

I think God hearing Jesus prayer favorably did not necessarily mean that God granted his request. Just that God was pleased with Jesus, for being willing to do God's will under extreme circumstances.

Hebrews 5:8 Although he was a Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered, and after he had been made perfect he...

First, the reality of who Christ was is difficult for people to understand. He was fully God and fully man. He was greatly troubled by what was about to take place, possibly the brutal way He was to die but more so the fact that He was to carry to the grave the sins of the world for all time. The weight of that sin and the ugliness of what we've seen sin to be was a horrible prospect to see coming and yet He said "not my will but yours be done". Hebrews talks of how God "heard" His prayers and in Luke in shows that result in how an angel came and strengthened Him. God didn't absolve Him of His mission, He strengthened Him in it. To "fear" God is to give honor to Him, to show respect for His authority and postion it has nothing to do with how God responds to prayer, it is a 'position' of the one praying.
Finally, the 3 days that was made quite clear by Jesus regarding the Temple, Jonas etc. was according to the Jewish standard of that time and now. The end of the day isn't considered so until sunset. It was clear that Jesus died and was buried on Friday before the sun went down, that was the first day, Saturday, the Sabboth for them was the second day and on Sunday, the first day of the week in the morning after the sun had risen, that was considered the third day. It wasn't said that in 72 hours Jesus would arise, to fulfill the prophecy requires 24 hours plus at least part of the other two days. This was a cultural understanding that when read literal to our perspective is confusing.
All prophecies concerning Jesus were fulfilled and He established Himself as the true Messiah.

1&2You need to read the entire Gospel you will see Jesus talked about His death and resurrection as God's Plan for Him. With each "If it is possible" it was always ended with. But not my will but thine" So His prayers were answered "Thine will be done"

The three days and three nights seems to be a figure of speech. We do know that in Rabinnic thought any part of a day and a night was seen as the whole. They would use the term of a "day and a night" for any part of one. Notice we never hear about 40 days and 39 nights, or 3 days and 4 nights. It would seem quite strange that all the days rounded so nicely. If we do not understand it this way, then there really seems to be no way to reconcile it. Jesus was not burried for 3 24-hour periods. It is true that some put the crucifixion on a Wednesday. This is however a minority position among scholars and it still does not solve the issue. Wednesday plus three days still only brings us to Saturday. It seems best to understand Jesus' statement in light of the Rabinnic thought.

Your not interpreting this correctly. Jesus wanted some other way to take care of sin. Thats why he asked the Father but He new even more that He was there to fullfil the will of the Father so His request wasnt going to happen, as He already knew. Christ new how much pain and suffering He was going to put Himself through, and He was scared, and that shows the human side of Him. His soul did suffer also and just because your friend were wrong doesnt prove anything but that they didnt know what they were talking about. God had evey intention to die because He did so your argument doesnt prove anything, with all due respect. We can take the scriptures and guess, speculate, or whatever to prove Christ isnt the Son of God, but without the Holy Spirit guiding and teaching us, christians will overlook, misinterprit, the bible, and its easy to do. However as an unbeliever, the things of God are hidden from them except the Gospel of Christ.

your first question is answered by you.........Jesus prayed..."If it be possible",. Jesus the man didn't desire to die. He understood his role on earth and accepted it, but because he was human he felt pain and suffering. He also said....... "not as I will, but as thou wilt." (Matthew 26:39) Jesus gave in to God's will in his life. Not his own will.

As far as answering prayers.........Sometimes "no" is answer enough. Man doesn't like to accept this, but it is true. Again, "not as I will," ......and in verse 42...."thy will be done." Putting God and his will above all else.

The sabbath, in Old Testament times, started at approximately 6:00 pm. Jesus had died at this time.....Matthew 27:45-50...Jesus died in the ninth hour. This is 6:00. Therefore being the first day. The next day being the second. Our Sunday is the first day of the week for us, but not the first day of our "workweek". The Sabbath ran until Sunday evening.......no work nor buying and selling were allowed during this time. In Mark 16:1 it states "And when the Sabbath was past....." Therefore, it wasn't Sunday morning....but rather, Monday morining. They could not have asked anyone to roll away the stone untill the Sabbath was over, as they did in verse 3.

So Jesus' death did fulfill the law.

The early Christians had to disguise any holiday or day of reverence as a roman holiday or they would be punished as well. So since there was already the sabbath day to remember they always celebrated Christian holidays on Sundays. So why didn't they change it to good thurs instead of Friday? Same reason Friday were always worship days. They went with the flow rather than die and we have just never changed it back.

Christmas is an exception because there was another big roman festival on Dec 25 which is why they changed that.

As Jesus was a sacrifice for the sins of man, he would have been crucified on the Passover, which is the traditional Jewish date of the sacrificing of lambs. According to the Hebrew calender, in the year of Jesus' crucifixion, Passover was on a Wednesday. Therefore, he was crucified on Wednesday and came back on Saturday, which is the true Sabbath (not Sunday).
As far as good Friday and easter are concerned, these are man's holidays, not God's, and they are based on previous cultures pagan holidays.

By the way Jesus never died on Friday and rose on Sunday!

-----------JESUS'S DEATH------------
***JESUS DIED WEDNESDAY APRIL 14, 31AD (3 P.M.)

A good foundation (1Tim.6:19) has solid ground evidence. The foundation should include 2Tim.3:16; Isaiah 28:9-10; 2Peter 1:19-21; 1Thess.5:20-21 & Ephes.5:9-10,13. To understand deeply--you must use these websites:

If you read Daniel 9:27; it says "he died in the middle of the week"; that would be Wednesday. This is followed by "3 days & 3 nights" = Matthew 12:40 which equals 1-24hr.day x 3days equals 72hrs. in grave. Next the Bible tells us it would be "after 3days and "not before = Matt.27:63-64 and Mark 8:31. It tells us in three days (John 2:19-21) and not after. The Bible also reminds us a day is 12hrs. not including the night(John 11:9-10). Remember also Gen.1:5 and Lev.23:32 tells us "evening to evening" is considered to be a day.

Now I know this is true because the MAJORITY(Matt.7:13) is always wrong. Also there's many clues that it wasn't a Friday crucifixion and a Sunday resurrection; look at 2Tim.2:18. But you will point out Mark 16:9 which says "Now when Jesus was risen[the perfect tense is correct here--he was already risen] early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene." Now the original Greek didn't have no punctuation. If the King James translators put a comma after the word "risen" and not after "week", this would make complete sense. The Centenary Translation renders it this way: "Now after his resurrection, early on the first day of the week he appeared first to Mary Magdalene."

That is not true. Jesus layed down his life willingly for our sins, so thay they would be forgiven. He was asking God for God's will to be done. Jesus was to die for our sins so we would not have to be sacrificing lambs to this day to cover our sins every year for our families.Jesus knew this from the day He was born.

The shedding of blood is the only way our sins can be cleansed from us. God sent His one and only son Jesus to be the ultimate Lamb of God. They did not kill or take Jesus life from Him. He layed it down and gave it up for us of His free will, because of how much He loves us, even though we are all sinners. Do you want to know just how much Jesus loves us?
He stretched out His arms and died.
