also..know that if you cat or dog has fleas your house is infested with them, as well as your yard. fleas lay eggs on furniture, carpet, grass, weeds, flowers, anything that will stand still, and dogs and cats.
if your pets have a problem..your home needs to be sprayed, as well as your yard or you will NEVER get rid of them.
a once a month treatment is also good for your dog or cat. i use the cheap stuff from Wal-Mart...it works, only because i also have my yard and house sprayed too.
killing fleas is and always will be a three step process.
YARD, HOUSE, PETS, in that order! the "home flea bombs" only work on the adult fleas, they don't kill all the eggs...spraying is the only for sure way to get rid of them
most pest control services will have a package price for ppl that have their yard and house sprayed regularly.
a one time spray may cost $200, but someone that uses they package would only pay $75 a year. not BAD!!
and they have sprays that are safe for pet and small children.

flea shampoos contain poisons which can be absorbed by cats and dogs. You should use flea prevention. The number one is Front Line which is safe for dogs and cats

I actually had good luck with Head & Shoulders shampoo on cats and a dog. they never seemed to have any irritation from it, and it got rid of the fleas on them very well.

It protects against fleas, and many parasites, including heartworm and hookworm..
It works better thaan anything I have ever used...Well worth the price!

I've found that frontline is the best. because they have it for cats and dogs.
