i know it's not good to bathe a cat regularly. my boyfriend and i adopted a stray kitty and he was/is flea infested!! yesterday we gave him two baths, and that killed most of his fleas. this morning we checked him and there's still some baby fleas on his back feet, and around the tail area. we want to give him two more baths today, but don't want to irritate his skin. is it ok to just bathe him a lot now and let him keep himself clean after we get rid of the fleas?

Read what the flea shampoo says . . . regular shampoo, shouldn't hurt. The biggest danger is hairballs from the licking to get dry.

It is not good, if the kitten is still little or malnourished, to be bathing it as often as you are. It's not just about getting the kitten to be with dry skin or something, it's about the chemicals that are in flea shampoos that can kill the fleas, but also can hurt the kitten. I would be very cautious in doing it again. It sounds like you are trying to do a great thing, and have good hearts so why not try over the counter, Frontline Plus?It is good for kittens I believe that are at least 6 weeks old, or check with a vet. to be safe. It will not only rid of the fleas, and reapply monthly, but the Plus gets the ticks too!!! Congrats on your kitten and lots of luck!!! Let the kitten learn to clean himself, as kittens/cats HATE water!! I've had cats all of my life, and have been through all of it, and think getting the Frontline Plus(over the counter too now)is best bet for you, your kitten and for the money. If you have other animals, you may now need to bomb the area for fleas if the kitten was/is truly infested!! Good luck! :)

Use dish soap to help kill the fleas, its not as strong and is safe for any age kitten. Also try using a capstar (found at most vet offices) to kill the fleas, its a pill that kills them all in 24 hours. Before doing anything else though, i would take the kitten to the vet to be checked out for things like leukemia and such, to make sure that ur kitty is even going to make it. Good luck!

Try to put flea medicine on him or use a flea collar. Maybe bathe him once a month if it gets bad.

Bathe a cat once & you'll soon long to have your skin back intact. Personally, I find nothing wrong with a dirty cat. I'm still looking for a good dry cleaner.
