Cold drafts can make a bird sick and die. It really should be moved.

NO BAD MOVE

Ok I cant tell you a suggestion other than moving the cage.

The air can blow up your birds feathers and cause hypothermia, it can take several days for it to kill the bird.

Something you could do is if possible dont use the AC near your birds cage.

Your best bet is to move the cage away from the AC

no the bird is not suppose to be any where near a draft, including a vent. You can put something that will block the draft if you do not wish to move the cage

I certainly would not keep a bird near a vent. If a bird is in a draft especially in the winter you most certainly will have problems with it. As long as you do not have gas then you might be able to cover it.

a lot of birds can't stand the draft...for example parakeets can stand cold temperatures, but they get sick easy if they have cold drafts blowing on them. if you can't move the cage, and you can't close the vent in that room, and you can't angle it up away from the cage, then put a towel over the side/top of the cage to give it a place to 'shelter' from the cold breeze.

Our bird's cage was near an air conditioning vent when my fiance lived in an apartment, and it never bothered her. (She's a cockatiel.) If you're worried about air blowing directly on her, drape a cloth (shower curtain, old bedsheet, spare piece of fabric) over that side of her cage so she has some shelter/shielding from it.

Maybe you'd want to put a small blanket over the side of the cage that is directly next to the vent.

You can get a plastic vent cover which attaches with magnets and directs the air either upward or downward. That way the cold air will not blow directly at the bird, which is not healthy for it.

I think not

try to find a thing or make a stand from which to hang it....away from the vent

No because drafts are bad for the birds it is like putting your bed next to a stove!
