All born again believers can receive a prophetic word to pass along to others but not everyone is called to a full time prophetic ministry.

1 Corinthians 14:3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort.

HELLO? The Bible itself says that Prophecy WILL BE DONE AWAY WITH!

There are no prophets today, we have the full and finished BIBLE in almost EVERY Language!!!

(1 Corinthians 13:8-10) 8. Love never fails. But whether there are (gifts of) prophesying, THEY WILL BE DONE AWAY WITH; whether there is knowledge, it will be down away with. 9. For we have partial knowledge and we prophesy partially.

The job of a prophet is to proclaim the word of God, and call mankind back to his presence. The Mormons believe their president is a "Prophet, seer, and revelator", and receives direct revelation from God. And that he is the only person on earth presently with all the powers to do so. They also believe everybody has the capability to receive revelation from God relevent to his position in life. The father, as traditional head of a household has the ability to receive revelation concerning his family etc. And also we all have the ability to receive revelation regarding ourselves. It is only the persons worthiness, or lack there of, that enables or disables him from doing so. Mormons also believe every member is a missionary, with the job of perfecting the saints, Proclaiming the word of God, and redeeming those who have died without hearing the word of God. Thats what their temples are for. Redeeming the dead who have passed on without receiving the word of God. I'm no good at citing chapter and verse in scriptures, but its in there somewhere about listening to that still small voice, call it your conscience, spirit, or an angel on your shoulder wispering in your ear, that speaks to you regarding Gods direction and will. All you have to do is learn to listen to it.

The biggest problem today is the spelling of the word.
It seems we have a lot of people calling themselves prophets but they are spelling it profits.
