two, even though you have a dog already.

it will be easier for you and for the kittens to have a friend.
then are less likely to scratch the sofa, scratch or bite you, cause any kind of other damage to your house. and they will have someone to play with.
and it's more fun to have two cats. the monthly cost after they have been spayed is like having one cat.

an advice because you dog is still a puppy himself you can adopt adult cats and there won't be alot of problems with them getting by together.
an adult cat will already be vaccinated and spayed and he will be more grateful for the home you gave him.
i'm sure you will find a great cat adults or kittens at your local shelter.

I found that if you can afford two cats and don't mind a little more work, cleaning an extra kitty litter and stuff like that, that the kitties are a lot happier. They have a companion to play with when your not around. If their from the same litter even better. If left alone their usually not as much trouble. Also, now would be the best time to introduce your puppy to the kitties. They will bond as they grow up together in the same house-hold.

It would be kind of hard to take care of a puppy and two kittens, but on the other hand if you got two the other one would have another kitten to play with.

Consider getting 2. I always felt bad just bringing one (of anything) home, especially just one kitten. In the end I'd go get another so he'd have a playmate. Plus 2 kittens are twice the fun (yeah, I know... and twice the clean up and chewed up toilet paper, LOL).

I suggest getting two. Since they have another kitten to play with and cuddle with, they tend to have less behavior problems. I have one adult and 3 kittens. They kittens are a riot to watch play and chase each other :)

I personally would get two. because this way they have each other to keep company when you are gone. and if they get along good with the puppy, that will keep the pup out of trouble also. they'll be so busy playing with each other that they will tire them selves out and won't be getting into stuff.

2 would be good if you can afford it. You have to think ahead to cost of food, vets bills for vaccinations, neutering/spaying and emergencies that may arise, and also if you go on holiday cost of putting them in kennels. 2 would keep each other company while they are young if you are out alot at work, but once they are older they will do their own thing.

Depends on the type of cat and how your lab would react to a cat. Some cats can't stand to be alone.
