Take her to a hair stylist. The can suggest things like layering to thin her hair out a bit. They're a good source for styles too. You should wash her hair at least once a week. All the buildup of natural oils plus what you're putting in her hair will only make it heavier. Make sure you use a good shampoo and conditioner for dry hair. Dove has good shampoos and conditioners that don't weigh down the hair. Use a good deep conditioner once a week and see if that helps.

Dax although it helps at first can actually dry hair out in the long run, especially if her hair doesnt make it own naturl oils well. You may need to try something a little more greasy like Blue Magic Coconut Oil. Also that TreSemme aint gon get it either. My daughters (and me) all have naturally curly frizzy hair. Two of us have really coarse hair. On ours I use Infusium 23 Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. During the week I also use the leave in during the day and use the Blue Magic at night, comb out our hair and wrap it in a bun to keep the moisture in.

Quit using the dax. Use a product that has no alcohol (which is what is keeping her hair dry). I have a mixed son and use Softee products. Try using the ones that have aloe, cocoa butter, castor oil, and vitamins. Wash her hair every three days and put cholesterol on her scalp (thinly) before greasing. Softee products are inexpensive also!!!! :-}

Take her to a professional braider every other week to have them cornrow her hair. Tell them that her hair is very dry and that you want to do an deep conditioning treatment at least once a month. At this age, extensions are not necessary and may actually damage your child's hair and scalp. Having her hair in cornrows is an easy style that doesn't need to be touched for weeks.

oh my god. that is not what you should do with it. i can only assume that your child is white or part white. sorry if i am wrong. the best thing to do is to wash it every other day like normal. stop using grease. there are products out there for straitening thick hair. you might want to try a detangeling product if that is her problem. fizz-ease might work for her.personaly for my hair when i wear it curly and frizzy i put on some LA Looks gel/mousse and that when it air dries it looks great. don't perm her hair straight or use the japanese ion straitener.
