It was all a matter of instilling a bit of democracy. Obviously, muslims in that region prefer to kill each in their quest for power. The allies get out, it will return to something like it was with Saddam H. So get out and let them kill each other as they praise Allah.

It depends what you mean by 'win'. No we didn't win in Viet Nam, the Americans seriously underestimated the power of the opposition. In Iraq it depends what the objective is, but stop Saddam was the original goal, which is a clear win. Restore democracy- that will be more difficult and may not happen in our generation.

The AmeriKan President, Kennedy, got the country into the war with Viet Nam by using lies, lies and damn lies... and we could never have won that conflict because we were fighting an IDEAL and you can't fight or win against an IDEAL.

This AmeriKan President... God's appointed messenger here on earth, George Bush... has just repeated the same stupid, flawed policies of the Kennedy administration.. (and for the same reasons... OIL) and, as in Viet Nam... AmeriKa can not win against an IDEAL.

The only question is, just how long it will take before AmeriKa puts it's tail between it's legs... proclaims victory in Iraq... and pulls out... lust like in Viet Nam... and... sadly... the AmeriKan public is so stupid... THEY WILL BELIEVER WE REALLY WON.!

AMERIKANS DON'T KNOW HISTORY... THEIR OWN OR ANYONE ELSES.. so they keep making the same stupid, arrogant mistakes... over and over and over.!

We lost in Vietnam for several reasons, but I have always believed that the chief reason was the jaw-dropping lack of support at home.

Not a week went by that there wasn't some demonstration someplace against the war, against the President, against the U.S. and against our troops. The government finally (and unwisely) yielded to pressure and began bringing home troops, a few at first, and then by boatloads.

So, my question for *you* is, how does a country win a war without any troops stationed in the war zone?

We didn't win in Vietnam because of people like you. The media made us feel defeated and the military soon grew afraid to really kick butt. It became a political problem.
If the media was in WW2 the way it is now we would all be speaking German.

You just have to win in Iraq -- by all means. Consider the lives that's lost there, the money spent. Conquering at least one of Iraq's oil sites is, well, still less to compensate what you've lost so far.

What are you saying? We have both of their most active leaders. Ones having a great time in court and the other got blown up? How much win can you ask for?

The whole thing was flawed from the beginning . We were lied to and told we had to go . Now we find that they didn't even know , what was there and how or when , we would finish the job . Has anyone ever gone to war with less understsnding of it ?

Give me a break please. Like I said in other answers if you weren't over there you have NO right to bit*ch about anything. I'm getting sick of seeing crap on here about people crying over this and that about our soldiers. In my eyes and million of other good Americans eyes we are proud of our Military and We will stand behind them no matter what.

My son ( Which is in the Marines and WAS over there ) would hang his head in shame if I ever said anything bad about our troops or ever put down the country that he swore to protect. So till you have been there or had a close relative over there you have NO right to put down anything about this war.

You are only to boost the matter why is it necessary to interfare in anothers internal affairs. One day all will be against you. So be careful. Let me remaind you you made Afganistan win before against USSR by helping Laden. Now he is against you because of your policy to rule whole world.
