I can't believe how terrible people spell on this site. Why do you think that is? Are they just stupid or do they just don't know how to type? Your opinion please.

I never thought about the kid issues. That makes sense. But there are many that I know are adults that spell badly.

It is amaziing by just asking a question how angry some people can get. It was just out of curiosity and not intended to do injustice to anyone. I wanted an opinion and I am getting some great answers.

I see there are many reasons for this. Some, because of my ignorance didn't even think about. Very interesting with all the answers I received. Thanks a bunch everyone.

Some are lazy.
Some are busy.
Some can't spell.
Some have learning disabilities.
Some really don't care.
I would not go so far as to say they're "stupid," though. Some of the most intelligent people I have ever known can't type very well.
As for YA, try to focus more on content than spelling, or you're going to end up feeling very frustrated.

I have no idea. I believe they think that the internet lingo used on messenger can be used on here. What they do not understand is that they are just making themselves look like complete idiots.
Another thing that gets me, is that there is a nifty "Check Spelling" button right on top of this box you use to type an answer in.
Somehow it never gets used.
Amazing.

It can happen to anyone Bro even our gramar. Those insidence are tolerable, you must understand that not all the people logged on this site are as good as you are. Learning is a never ending process, I, too is learning and becoming a better person on the process not because I throw nasty questions or questions that people out there feel or think it is incomprehensive.

For some of us English is not the first language you know.I'd love to see you try spelling in French,Dutch or Arabic.
I do get annoyed when people refuse to use the spell check,a very useful tool,but to my sup rise this is not a problem of us foreigners alone.Hope you can read this

I am not quite sure,
there is even a spell check feature, which it seems few people use.
It may be because Internet lingo is so commonly used, with its shortcuts and anagrams that people don't feel the need to spell correctly.
I use it, not because I can't spell, but because I frequently have typographical errors.

Actually, it's probably due to the laziness of those who throughout most of their typing life relied on word processors with auto spell check to make the corrections for them. It's also an age of spontaneity and just type it as it comes to mind, which creates little opportunity to double-check one's work. All in all, it probably is not a good thing this is occuring as it can lead to a break-down of general work ethics.

Maybe in some cases English isn't their first language. In other cases, they're just in a hurry & don't want to take the time to use the Spell check.

Most of it is adolescent gibberish combined with some archaic webl-ish. Most human adults have no need to look stupid in front of their peers and have long since learned how to spell correctly.

Some Type really fast and some dont feel like going back and recorrecting their typos because its not important on here, its not that they cant spell its that they dont care that much, also some people arent american and have trouble with english words
