Don't just say your own country for the sake of it. Give me some reasons. Like you get pints of beer in England. Or Americans have got New Orleans. Something like that.

Ok, we now have only another five answers in eleven minutes.
I'm guessing that the first people to answer saw this on the front page of answers and now my question has scrolled off that screen. Therefore from now on it will be people who see this question in the beer wine and spirits category - so they are most likely to be specialists on the subject, therefore maybe I should weight their opinion accordingly.

I'd say the English because of our binge drinking mentality and the sheer speed at which we drink.
But the most boozy place I've ever been to has to be New Orleans! And the Americans sure know how to drink there.
Americans spirit measures are MASSIVE! Which is nice.
And if you look out the microbreweries their beer is pretty damn good as well.

I just answered another question of yours and so this is how I came about here.
To be honest, I was wondering if you were another "American basher", I kinda think you are not.......maybe just travel a good deal? Which gets you at least one up on most that answer some of these questions...So many are ready to bash American people and have never been there or even know anyone from there. I'm American living in England.....and while I'm not a big beer drinker....I've seen both sides of the pond able to put away plenty. It is the culture here (UK) to drink from a young age and the Pub to be a main social event in your lives. The beer or lager or what ever the terminology, is stouter than most beer served in America. Although stouter brews are available to those that rather have it. I think (without knowing statistics) that it's probably equal among few.
I'm amazed at the people that pose this question as a competition....
."I'm a bigger drunk than you!" type thing.......kinda strange.

Americansailors (in the 90's) were told "do not try to out drink or out fight the locals, they are very good at both!" (when docking into Portsmouth).
I dont know if this is still the same today but it was the case then and unless the American sailors have got better at handling their drink or the "locals" have lost the skill then I guess the English are better
Besides its more of a social norm over here and we can do it earlier (18 not 21)
You know im right!!:)

I am astounded by many things, the inability of people to spell, the inability to answer a questionin a civil manner and the people who just use the question to be dumb, such as : I don't care, or "the americans of course" what kind of answer is that ? (apologies if you are only 5 years of age, but if you are, should you be on this page?)
Looking at the question, how is it to be understood: looking at it, I am at first drawn to the conclusion that "best" could mean most sensible, but somehow I don't think that is what the questioner has in mind. Or perhaps he or she is simply being an "Agent Provocateur" - then again! I'll earn my two points by saying, that I am terribly sorry but your question is so structured that I am unable to decypher it to do it justice!

It would have to be the English, they are brought up on decent beers and not watered down widows p**s they that across the Atlantic. Honestly, when I was 20,I drank a crate of 24 Budd Light-a crate! I'm the woos that fainted a few days ago(see 'beer and drink')after a pathetic amount of booze..(English stuff)..it's also the reason why the Chinese aren't good at holding their booze as us-they made their water drinkable(many moons ago) by brewing it into tea-we made into alcohol...yeah,nice one!

The English. I went on holiday to New York a few years ago with my mates. After about 1 hour and 5 litres of booze each the guy behind the bar said "wow, you guys can drink" and promptly poured us another for free. You can imagine how inebriated we were 7 hours later! What a great time we had.

I think the British are probably better at getting drunk than the Americans.
Having spent 6 years in the States and in Vegas of all places, I never witnessed the **** or fight mentality that I have seen many times and been party to in the UK.
Saying that though, there is nothing like the British Pub!
