Was prophet Muhammad a Jew?

Arabs say they are descended from Abraham,and we know king David is from Abraham's linage from whom Jews are from.So are they brothers?

More like cousins. Muhammad felt that he was returning the Arabs to the true, original religion of Abraham, like Moses did for the Jews and Jesus did for the Gentiles. Muhammed felt that he was equal to Moses and Jesus and that Jews, Christians, and Muslims were are related religions, all versions of the Abrahamic religion given to each of the groups. In the same way that Jews felt like Jesus was a fake, Jews and Christians both fel the same about Muhammed.

No Muhammad was not a Jew. He is however a descendant of Abraham. Abraham's son Ishmael was from his handmaiden and this is the linage that Muhammad is from. Abraham's other son Issac was from his wife Sarah. Issac was the father of Jacob (later named Israel). It is this linage that the Jews come from. Hope this helps God Bless

No, the Arabs were not the preserved seed of promise-even though Abraham is their father by Hagar. The seed was preserved through Issac, not Ishmael. Arabs are not Jews.

There are many types of lineages, out of which two types come to mind for this discussion.... the physical and the spiritual lineage, both of which are bound to each other in some cases.

Although there are claims that Prophet Mohammad's lineage tied to that of Abraham physically, as he was the grandson of the Chief of the Arabs, who claimed his lineage back to Abraham -- he did establish among his people the tradition of honoring the Great Ones of Israel, one and all, as well as established the Love of the ONE CREATOR.

What Prophet Mohammad tried could have come to naught, as we are all mortals and die one day. The fact is the LORD MOST HIGH Himself blessed his struggle and established his work across all nations. When the Prophet of Islam died, he had spread the belief in ONE CREATOR only to his own nation. From that point forward, the Lord could have collapsed his works by establishing one powerful enemy that could destroy the work of the Prophet in a few short years, and re-establish the old Arab pagan religion that had existed for centuries and there were many who were loyal secretly to the pagan religion and gods.

In fact the very son and grandson of the arch-enemy of the Prophet DID BECOME RULERS of the Arabs. (Muwaviah Bin Abu-Sufyaan and Yazeed bin Muwaviah were the children of the man Abu Sufyaan who fought the Prophet bitterly for ten years and lost). Yazeed even managed to almost kill off all males from among the family of the Prophet. Yet, he was not able to kill off the work of the Prophet! These are points to ponder for those who think!!

Islam is not only not destroyed, but is growing by leaps and bounds to this day. In this I see the Hand of the MIGHTY ARCHITECT, the POWERFUL LORD who does not slumber nor sleep in whose Hand lies all POWER!!

Besides, the Lord has promised in the Bible that those who bless the Righteous of Israel as surely Abraham, Moses and David were, the Lord Almighty himself is bound by his promise, as Prophet Mohammad not only put the names of these great men on new lips and sealed them in new hearts but taught all Muslims to bless these great men who established monotheism on Earth with great courage and sacrifices so that peace shall reign one day because of their combined works!!

Ultimately being a descendant does not make one necessarily the spiritual son of the father. Time and again it has been shown that the descendants turn on the fathers religion. When Cain killed Abel, he established a tradition that shows that being the son in flesh alone is not enough, although that could always be a factor.
