Honey, in fact you are right. We should respect other people beliefs. But I must admit I've attacked Christians once, cause it's impossible to ignore them sometimes. I am asking a question which is not even in the section "Religion" but they are just disagreed with me and start to bombing me with posts like "You are going straight to Hell", " You are an idiot", "You should turn to Jesus, e mail me and I'll help you", and so on. Well, may be I am unfair, but I think Christians began that war on Yahoo!Answers. Cause it's really kind of verbal war!Take a look and you'll find out that the question which receive much answers are the ones about insulting Christians or Atheists.

I wish it weren't so, but it looks very much as if the Christians and the Atheists on Yahoo are at war.
I guess, if your a Christian or an Atheist who doesn't want to participate, the only thing to do is to duck, eh?
I'm a Christian. I figure, since most of the folks in this forum have already heard the gospel, there isn't much point in my repeating it at them if it annoys them...but as long as I'm here, I'm gonna try to "let my light shine" and enjoy the show. I'm doing my best to be the best example of Christianity I can be, even if I do mess up now and then, and meantime, I'm having a rollicking good time.

I am greatly amused by the fact when their 'beliefs' are challenged, most Christians tend to perceive it as a 'personal attack'.
This serves to illustrate that one's 'beliefs' are an important component of the internal interpretive filters that work together to produce one's 'self-description'. When one of those component beliefs is challenged, the 'ego' requires that the individual respond with fear, anger, aggression... all parts of the 'self defense' kit.
There are several filters that make up this 'self-description' of which I speak:
* Misconceptions
* Prejudices
* Beliefs
* Experiential reference
* Knowledge base
The only way that a person can evolve personally and spiritually, and achieve self-realization, is to EMIMINATE the first three filters (Misconceptions, Prejudices, Beliefs), tune up the knowledge base by eliminating whatever 'knowledge' is a FALSE result of those emliminated filters...and then recapitulate the experiential reference (reevaluate significant life experiences ABSENT the destructive influence of the eliminated filters)... rinse and repeat.
Better get busy... you've got a lot of work to do.
"I am treated as evil by people who claim that they are being oppressed because they are not allowed to force me to practice what they do."Â ~ D. Dale Gulledge

That certainly sounds like a reasonable attitude to me. I doubt, however, that we need a new word. Just common courtesy would do.

combining different religions is probablly a mistake. It's like combining jews with chrisitians, when jews can't eat meat and have to eat kosher, thechristians can.

There is a common theme in your words: Religion inspires hatred. That should be a warning sign...

I just think we should all get along, and accept the fact that we are all humans. Regardless of our religions.
