Sharia Law is the Law that is being created by God in the Quran (Islamic Law) it is among the most ancient law in this world that still been in practice in a lot of place particularly in the middle east.
it is a bit too much for a punishment, but the lesson being learned by everybody and they will commit no crime because of it.
Take for one example.
If you steal money because you want to be RICH. then the punishment will be
Your hand will be Chopped OFF in PUBLIC. everybody must see this. at the moment, it must be broadcast, so it will be a lesson to everybody.
BUT if you steal Food, because you are hungry, and you prove that you do it out of desperation not because of greed, you will be release, and the government should help you out by providing Jobs and support.
If you killed one life , You must be KILL as well unless the family of the victim says that they forgive you for the crime that you commit or offer you another way of solving the problem, maybe by paying them some ammount of money. but remember, the offer must come from the victims family not from the killer. Government will be the one to make sure that there is no pressure on the family or unjustice situation.
To be honest I still searching about the rate of crime in Mecca for example that is still practicing this Law. anybody know where can I find it?

The Sharia Law is the law that rules over the muslim comunity. If you believe in Islam and you are really conservative in that sense you may wish to have a country in which that religious law is appliaed to everything, and also that the government woulld be run by the religious authorities.
