Do you mean the "great falling away" spoken of in the New Testament before Jesus comes? Or do you speak of 'the great pornacracy"?

"falling away"---2 Th. 2:3
"great pornacracy" ---Roman Catholicism c.1000-1100?

I think you are talking about Mt 24: 15 "The Abomination of Desolation." At least, I could not find apostasy anywhere in my concordance.

So I will talk about this verse. To do that, I will have to give a brief history of the Apocalypse.

If you notice this whole section is about the end times, (I cut off part of the beginning and part of the end). If you cross-reference this section with other parts of the bible that discuss this time section as well. what seems to happen is that after the war against Israel, that God stops (???) Then there is the rapture. After the rapture there seems to be a small window of time before the actual apocalypse 7 years begin. in that period of time, someone will come forward who will promise peace to the whole world. that person ends up being the Anti-Christ. We probably have not even heard the name of person yet, even if the end-times are warming up.

Part of the deal for the apocalypse is that Israel is expanded to the size it was in ancient times, which includes parts of the countries bordering it currently. (Love to see how that happens, very curioius!) Also Solomon's Temple is rebuilt. About 3.5 years into the apocalypse, the anti-christ sits in the temple throne and has everyone worship him. I believe that happens after the Antichrist is killed throught the head with a sword, and Lucifer raises him to life three days later. This "resurrection" makes people beilieve that he is God.

Anyway the "the abomination of desolation" refers to the antichrist within the temple.

Matthew 24 (MKJV) | Back to Search Results Previous | Next
4And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you.
5"For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.
6"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7"For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
8"All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.
10"And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
11"Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
12"And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
13"But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
14"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
15"Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
16"then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
17"Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.
18"And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.
19"But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
20"And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
21"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22"And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
23"Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it.
24"For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 is interpret from Apostasia -to falling away
this was a Defection or to Forsake, I have heard this taught from every angle I think, at least many.
I will give you the Kritikos43 translation. I derived from KJV and some Study Verse 1 to 4
I beg you brothers By the Coming of our Lord Jesus Anointing and our gathering together unto him. Do not be troubled in your mind,or Spirit, Not by word & not by any letter that appears to be from us. The day of Anointing is Now. Let no one decieve you by any means," Unless there comes Apostasia ( Defection) first" And the Man of Sin be revealed, "The Son of Perdition" Who opposes and exalts him self above all that is Called of God. or that is worshiped, So that he as God sets in a" Temple " showing himself to be God.. Remember I told you this when I was with you.

"Apostacy" is a religious term and mind you that religion is politicised spirituality. The simple choice is between living with or without God.
