Is is a hoax?
I suppose it is made out of some unclaimed decayed dead body of an old man. (not a mer'MAID') and some large fish.
May be some fisher folk made this.
Moreover it claims that it is preserved in Egmore museum. There is no such news in any main newspapers.
Just search Google: you will hit upon this link http://www.funonthenet.in/forums/index.php?topic=1181.0 As per one of the replies it was earlier "found" in Philipines.
SO NO DOUBT IT IS AN INTERNATIONAL HOAX

The skeleton you are talking about was a hoax made out of monkey bones and papier mache. The Dugong is thought to be the originator of the Mermaid myth, that and sailors out of their minds on rum and scurvy, probably drank too much of each others urine.

No, they aren't real, although I swore I saw one..while on a overnight trip on my families boat when I was 15.
When I was 5 I told my mom that i saw a stork and it had my sister in its mouth..

yea i saw that too its a hoax some one put a dead monkey and a fish together to make it. if there are real mermaid then its u :) lmao

I don't think they're real either. It could've been some fish that ate a human or something. They're probably not real. If they were real why didn't they get caught for 2006 years?
