fleas do NOT go away immediatly, unforunatly. you can kill tjhe adult fleas with a good flea medication, like K-9 advantix (works fantastically well, and extremely fast) but you'll still have the eggs in your carpets and furniture. it takes about 3 weeks for an egg to become an adult, but luckily when they do, they'll die afer ju,ping onto your dog if you've treated him.

i've noticed that the house bombs don't work . don't waste your money on them. there are places online where you can order flea medicine. check out eBay also.

Call in the professionals for the house and yard. For u'r dog, bathe it in dawn dish washing liquid, and go to the vet and get FRONTLINE PLUS. Once again, FLEA COLLARS DO NOT WORK. Once fleas have infested the house, it will take some time to get rid of them. I tell u to use a professional because the stuff from the stores will not work at this point. Good Luck.

Both Home Depot and Ace Hardware carry the indoor insecticide RID-A-BUG for FLEAS...comes in a RTU (Ready To Use) gallon container, with attached spray pistol...and it's cheap.

Pets must be removed from the premises until the insecticide dries.

You must spray ALL flooring, furniture (under cushions, under furniture, as well), all pet bedding and hangout spots. Spray thoroughly.

It's important that you follow up and RE-SPRAY every 10 days (to kill hatched eggs) until they are gone.

TREAT THE YARD. Fleas come from the outdoors, riding in on your pet. If you don't treat the yard, you'll just keep getting reinfested.

DO NOT HESITATE. The longer you wait, the more fleas you'll have, and the more eggs they'll lay to hatch later.

Maintenance: In the laundry aisle of your local store, look for 20 MULE TEAM - BORAX. It's a laundry additive containing BORAX (Boric Acid), which oxidizes fleas(killing them)...also is a great odor eliminator. Use this instead of Carpet Fresh before vaccuuming. This will help keep them out of your house once you've treated it, and keeps it smelling non-doggy, too.

The most effective method is to buy a bug bomb. Go to your local Petstore, they usually sell different brands of pest bombs to choose from. I reccomend anything made by Adams or Harts. I also recommend getting a multi pack, because one bomb is only good per room. You will have to close all the window and doors in your house. Unplug the refreigerator, and seal up anything else like a fish tank that chemicals can be harmful too. Once you set off the bombs leave for 3 hours, take any pets children or other family memebers with you. Also make sure that you have also given your pet a flea and tick remedy to prevent any more from getting in on them.

Its also a good idea to buy lawn and garden spray and do the outside of your house to help prevent futher infestations.

If it is impossible for you and your family members to leave the house all at once for 3 hours. You can buy surface sprays, but these are much less effective.

LYME or lime can't spell for the yard. After you have treated your yard with flea and tick killer. sprinkle lime in the yard. fleas ticks even snakes don't like lyme. get this at a home and garden center or a feed store

Lavender oil for there beds. just sprinkle a drop and it will keep it out of their beds.

by a bomb and fumagate the house or call an exterminator. you have got to break the flea cycle.

I use frontline or advantage they work about the same for me. it kills the fleas when they bite the dog

FLEA COLLAR VACUMN CLEANER. if you have a cannister vaccumn cleaner put the flea collar in the cannister when you vaccumn them up in the cannister it will kill the fleas instead of them finding a way out. I do not put flea collars on my pets though

An old time remedy is plain table salt. Sprinkle it around the house and let it set for a couple of weeks. It dehydrates the flea eggs and kills them.
I did it when infested by fleas and it works.
Plus it is earth friendly.

The only way to get rid of fleas that i know of is to bleach and vacuum your entire house, I would also recommend bathing your dog.

Call a Pest Control place. They can spray the whole house. Make sure they use a pet friendly solution. I would suggest bringing your pets somewhere else for a while,I wouldn't trust any chemical. I had the same problem and It worked great.

first get rid of the animals. second, raid hous bombs, set those off in the house, then get the yard spary and spray your yard so that they don't track back in. If that doesn't work call a professional to come in and spray.
