I'm not sure which country you are from or which religion you practise. I could answer for you both to follow your heart and screw sociaety but I understand that in some cultures such an attitude can have severe consequences.

I hope though that you can sit with your families either seperately or better still, if possible, all together and see if between you all this can be resolved in the way that will make you and your partner happy.

I wish you all the very best and hope that freedom of choice is appreciated for those that have it and is a future possibility for the many that don't!

It doesn't sound like society has a problem, just your parents. If you are an adult, (meaning over 25 or so, not just 18), then do what you feel is right.

Otherwise, listen to your family. Sometimes they may know what is right, even if you don't agree. Are you sure that you are admitting everything?

if he loves you and you love him.then why are they trying to stop you from marrying someone you love. After all you're cousin betrayed him.8 years ago. so he's free to marry anyone he wants.and it plan to see that you 2 are meant to be together then.you should get married. and for get about what you're parents want.cause this is something that they will have to learn to except and move on.
