They could have written you up for reckless driving, a much more serious violation. I'd bet you were out there wanting to be the first person in line and changing lanes and passing cars, weren't you?
As to a quota, and needing to write at the end of the month to catch up...you know that's not true. As I have told people on occasions who comment about quotas, "I used to have quotas, but now they let me write as many as I need to to keep the roads safe." You do know that the only reason for ticketing people is safety, don't you? If we can keep an accident from happening by slowing someone down, and save a life, that's what we will do.

There are some officers that are jerks, yes. I once got a bogus speeding ticket. Small town cops are definately the worst because they don't have much to do but nit-pick.
But, do I hate police in general? NO, Most of them are very nice, helpful, and have a genuine concern for the safety of the public.

They are not exactly high on the list of liked people but if you really need em ya should at least tolerate em. Some can be total jerks by using their badge and gun as a way of having "unnessesary power" over you. If you really think this is bogus, fight it, but suck it up and try not to do anything that will involve you having to have another "friendly" conversation with any of em.

It's your job as a licensed driver to drive RESPONSIBLY, ACCURATELY, and SAFELY.
No excuses.
If you were doing YOUR job, he wouldn't have had to do HIS, which is protecting the rest of us from unsafe drivers. If you were "following too closely", then you were obviously IMPATIENT with the person in front of you, so changed lanes in an unsafe manner.
ALWAYS allow plenty of room between you and the car in front of you, regardless of the situation. You NEED that room to maneuver in case something unexpected happens...and unexpected things happen ALL the time.
Be SAFE. Be SMART. STAY ALIVE.

No,I don't hate police. And yes I've gotten tickets. I got one for crossing the yellow line to make a left turn which was stupid of me to do. No contest.

Odds are good they have it on tape. If you really think it was bogus challange it in court. If you are guilty though then pay the fine and don't commit the offence anymore.

Yeah, I totally hate the people who serve and protect us against sophomoric people like you! Maybe next time you'll be a little more observant.

most of the times its small-town cops that aggravate me...they get all suspicious and follow u waiting for you to get 1 mile over the limit so they can bust ya....then theres places like west palm beach that have about 1 cop for every 5 citizens and if you get pulled over they like to gang up on ya about 5-6 cars, cuff ya, slam u on the hood of the car, root through all your stuff, and try to convince you your a felon for having a gun in the trunk....but i dont hate cops, i kinda wish i was one so i could bully everybody around to...

No I hate tailgaiters and whiners. Pay the ticket and consider yourself lucky you didn't cause an accident.
