its more complicated than you think. in the eighties, lisrael invaded lebanon, but hezbollah was the one who kicked them out. Israel has always been the enemy of every other mid-eastern country, mostly because of religion, ties to america, and their military practices. hezbollah recently captured 2 israeli soldiers, and israel invaded lebanon. note that hezbollah is a militia group, not the army of lebanon, so most of israels actions, such as blowing up a school, are unwarrented

The root cause is the Israelites crossing the Red Sea i always understood. But i could be wrong. Don't think there has been a lot of peace in that region since they arrived in their self-proclaimed promised land i think.. And even less since they declared part of the land as their own.

I don't think it is possible to ask that question without reading some of the history on the area. Not that i know of any good links, hopefully someone will come along who can.

I remember the Lebanon when i was a teenager. Only this times i choose to not keep my opinions to myself. However misinformed they may be.

Amen.

The root problem is the Islamists. What's happening is so simple people overlook the cause. The concept of oneness means the Islamists will not stop waging war until the entire world is one Islamic nation. That's the nature of the beast.

Because of where Israel is, geographically, has nothing to do with the wars--if you study where all the wars are, you will see Israel has nothing to do with the desires of Islamists to dominate the world. Israel is just the most obvious.

Read the Koran, objectively. If you do, you will learn of the concept of one. That concept empowers the Islamists to do anything they want to people they call Unbelievers, Infidels and Jewish people.

Until you figure out for yourself what's happening we will continue to be killed piecemeal by the Muslims. Until the entire world is Islamic, there will be no peace.

Hezbollah has vowed to wipe Israel off the face of the map.

Israel doesn't approve of this plan.

Hezbollah controls much of southern Lebanon, and the Lebanese government can't stop Hezbollah from attacking Israel from Lebanese soil.

No peace is never going to be possible.

Iran is in control of the terrorist groups in Lebanon.

Lebanon is not really the problem except their government is too afraid of the terrorist to do anything about them. Lebonan was ordered to get rid of the terrorist by the UN 2 years ago but have done nothing but to partially accept them.

Iran and its terror groups only want every jew on earth to be killed and have them wiped out as a people. Also a view by many of the non terrorists Muslims in the middle east also.

Israel was trying to make peace by giving back lands it did not want to give back, but that was not enough and they were continued to be attacked even after agreeing to the peace terms.

so no, Isreal will try again to take over alot of land around them, set up a buffer zone to stop short range rockets from hitting thier nation. But short of Isreal going after Iran and just taking over alot of the middle east ( which one can not rule out) I don't see it, but even then you would have a Iraq type situtaion with constant terrorist actions.

As with most wars, the origins of the fighting between Lebanon & Israel is religion. Most wars can be attributed to religous beliefs. Kind of ironic isn't it?

I don't think peace will ever come to this land. Hezbollah, and Hamas are terrorists who vow to destroy Israel. How can you reason with terrorists? The only thing they can relate to is violence. So no amount of discussion will do any good. Eventually, it will always come back to warfare.

Religion. They have been fighting since before the times of Jesus. There will never be complete peace in the middle east.
Their fanaticals over there. Theres no factors in their religion or beliefs, that "thou shall not kill".

the root cause of the dispute is the holy land.each side believes they are entitled to the holy land because of their religious beliefs.that their god is the true god and as the followers of the one and only true god they are the only ones right in their beliefs.
as history easily shows, almost every religion claims to be 'peaceful','loving','tolerant',and of course the only true path to the only true god.when in reality more people are murdered under the guise of religious beliefs in the name of god and holy wars.
all the world, all the different religions,if they truly practiced what they preached instead of trying to kill everyone else in the name of god, there would be peace.but for some strange reason all those righteous followers of the only and only whichever they picked god seem hell bent on everyone believing as they do or die heathen scum die.
