It's a natural reaction to the increased blood flow throughout the body when waking up. It's not always just a matter of being turned on, so if he's not getting them any longer there may be several reasons including the fact that he may be fatigued, stressed, or he may have a circulation issue. Guys get hard numerous times a day for no particular reason. Being a guy is great. =)
