I like to speak Turkish. I've lived in Turkey for 9 years and I think my Turkish is pretty good (if I don't say so myself).
Why Persians don't like Turks? Well, I have several Iranian friends here in Istanbul, and from what I can understand it's just that Turks/Azeris in Iran are usually seen as 'farmers' and generally lower-class people with a funny accent when they speak Persian. There's no dislike, but Turks in Iran are apparently the butts of a lot of jokes.
And Sevinj, we get AzTV here in Istanbul :) I can understand about half of what I hear on it... most Turks can understand about 75% of it. All I can say in Azeri is 'uçak düşüyor!' (that's a popular joke in Turkey if you don't know)...

my language is similar to Turkish...but still i don't like to speak Turkish because they never speak in my language.
lol one good story...one Turk says to a Azeri, you know our language is so similar. Azeri asks ok then do you speak Azeri...the Turk says NO!
lol to edsawyer...great that you get AzTV there lol...i hope you not bored by watching that...and i dont know the joke. hey but the farmer thingy is funny..but wondering how persians would look when they speak azeri or turkish.

Yeah, I like the language and the ppl too. I'm from Macedonia, there're many here, and also I've never been in Turkey, my friends say that the ppl are so nice and hospital. So here is a greeting to ya all!!
