Make people more present time thinkers and have them educated how to live through the real life values ; not thinking of themselves only, neither helping others constantly ;
making others competent and able is the best gift one can offer others! So Earth could be a better and safer Planet!

Only 1? Do away with motor vehicles, modern day guns and make marriage a legal requirement. You said, one, but those 3 each would do the trick- if they're all done the result would be better and quicker
