Speaking from experience, you're just going to go back to way you were before you started taking them in the first place. It's up to you whether that is good or bad. Myself, I've never even considered going back on any of those types of meds.

Yes there definitely are side effects, and you should be careful. I took Prozac for several years to good effect, but eventually I had to get off it. I had a really strange sort of dizzy feeling for months after I went off it, and of course the depression came back, although not as bad as it had been.

You may want to start taking a reduced dose for a while and cut it back gradually, rather than stopping so suddenly. If you don't want your doctor involved, at least tell some reliable person who is close to you, so if you start having a depressive episode they can keep an eye on you and encourage you. Depression is a life threatening disease. Don't underestimate it's effects.

Yes, there can be side effects of stopping Prozac. It is recommended that it be titrated down over a period of time.
Some of the side effects are dizziness, confusion, loss of balance, irritability and sleeplessness. Good Luck:)

There can be side effects from just stopping. If you were unhappy, started taking the pills and became happy, chances are if you stop right away you may be really unhappy all of a sudden. Worse then you were before you started taking it anyways

I used to take prozac, but I was so messed up back then I can't remember if I just quit. I do know that most meds you take for emotional problems , you should wean yourself off. I recently weaned my self off wel-butrin.
