In the book of Leviticus, chapter 11, v. 7, it is recorded that God declares the pig to be unclean for believers. Then, in verse 8, God says: “You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you”. This command is repeated in Deuteronomy 14:7-8. Then, in Isaiah 65:2-4, and 66:17, God issues a stern warning against those who eat pork.

Some people are aware of this prohibition from God, but they say that they can eat pork because St. Paul said that all food is clean in his letter to the Romans 14:20. St. Paul said this because he believed (as he wrote in his letter to the Ephesians 2:14-15) that Jesus had abolished the Law with all its commandments and regulations. He seems, however, to have misunderstood what he heard about Jesus. In the Gospel According to Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus is reported to have said quite the contrary, as follows: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law . . . ." Jesus then went on in that passage (in verse 19) to denounce anyone who would break the smallest commandment and teach others likewise. He also praised his true followers who will practice and teach even the smallest commandment. One of the commandment is to stay away from pork.

This is why the true followers of Jesus, holding on to his teachings, did not let unclean food such as pork enter their mouths, so that Peter, the chief disciple, can say, “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean” (Acts of the Apostles, ch. 10, v. 14)

Five chapters later in the Acts of the Apostles, 15:29, we find that the original disciples still differentiate between clean and unclean foods, and this time Paul is in agreement with them. Six chapters later, in ch. 21, v. 25, their decision to impose food regulations on believers is mentioned without regret, and this time Paul is challenged to prove that he is in agreement with them; and he demonstrated his full agreement with them.

The Bible says Not and you do it anyways and call your self heavly and pure and more

Because pork taste awesome...oink...oink...oink! Do you really believe what you are asking? I feed my family what ever meat is on sale and I can afford to put on my table. I am certain God would rather me feed my family then let them starve!

All God's creatures have their place....right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy!

I don't eat Pork or any unclean thing!

Why do people? THEY DON'T WANT TO FOLLOW JESUS; DIDN'T YOU KNOW THAT, "FOR ALL SEEK THEIR OWN, NOT THE THINGS WHICH ARE JESUS CHRIST'S."--(PHIL.2:21)
** TEXTS THAT INVOLVE THE CLEAN AND UNCLEAN MEATS:
GEN.18:7-8; LEV.11; 20:25; DEUT.14; ISAIAH 66:17; EZEK.22:26; DAN.1:8; MATT.3:4; LUKE 24:41-43; ACTS 10:10-14; 1COR.3:16-17; 9:27; 2COR.6:17; AND REV.21:8.

IF THE CLEAN AND UNCLEAN MEATS WEREN'T VALID FOR TODAY; THEN WHY OH WHY WOULD THE LORD PLEAD WITH FLESH NOT TO EAT UNCLEAN MEAT--(ISAIAH 66:15-17). ALSO NOTICE DEUT.14:4 "SHALT NOT EAT ANY ABOMINABLE THING" AND REV.21:8 "...THE ABOMINABLE SHALL HAVE THEIR PART IN THE LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH."

Now to your second question: Paul never said that the clean and unclean meats were abolished ever. If you want to know more about Colossians 2:15 and Ephesians 2:15; see

Christians are permitted to eat pork since it is not what goes into a man's mouth but what comes out of it that makes him unclean. Also, in chapter 10 of Acts, a voice from heaven declares, "do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

The whole point of Scripture is redemption. For the Jews, redemption came through following the law. The law made distinctions between what was clean and what was unclean. If someone ate what was unclean, they'd have to make atonement for his/her sin. For Christians, redemption is through belief in Jesus Christ. It matters not what type of animal you eat (as long as it wasn't sacrificed to idols). The need for the law of separating clean animals from unclean animals is gone since Jesus came and made atonement for all.

I use to, but I don't see anything wrong with someone else eating it. I chose not to eat pork pretty much for no good reason. Then again the Bible says a lot of things that we are not suppose to do that we as humans do anyway. So no one is "pure" because I think we all break the rules sometimes whether it is on purpose or accidently. Just my opinion.

You do err not nowing the scriptures or the power of God. We are not under the law.
(Galatians 2:16)
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

(1 Timothy 4:3-5)
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

See, there is a new testament. Jesus Christ delivered us from the bondage of the law. Please read Romans 2-8, Ephesians 2-4, and Galations. Thanks for the question.

The purpose of the Old Testament law was to prove to people that NO ONE can be good enough to be saved. Not one single Jew has ever been able to keep the entire law through their entire life. Ever.

Once the point had been proven, Jesus came to be an offering for our sin. And that sin in a free gift, and we don't recieve that gift by being good little boys and girls (that is, keeping the law), we get that gift by simply accepting it.

Do you think that there is anything that a puny human could do to in the face of God? The gift is God's to give, not ours to take (by being good).

I can't really answer that biblical so I will say that Christians is spelled that way...and proceed by say that the bible has been translated many times and who knows what it really said when it was first written. clearly you have pointed out a contradiction in the bible already. Not all Christians eat pork, just like all Jews are not wealthy but cheap and all Muslims are not terrorist woman haters. Clearly you have a problem with Christianity.

I want some bacon with my pork and beans! Give me some chitterlings! Slap me a side of salt meat with those lima beans! Let's go whole hog on this one, boys! Serve up a platter of fried pork chops, baby. Are those bar-b-qued baby back ribs cooked yet? Good God, I'm hungry! If you believe everything you read, then you are definitely in deep pig manure! Use your common sense and your God given judgement. Answer you own stupid question and stop subjecting us to your poor spelling and seditious intentions!

Old Testament = old school

Jesus = new school

New School - pick what you want, ignore the rest. Both "books" are full of contradictions which can justify any decision: i.e. Thou shalt not kill / an adulteress shall be stoned to death

In the end, bacon, ham, chops, and all are tasty. When I prayed, I asked God, "Should I eat tasty food?"
God said "Go for it, I made it all for your kind to use and enjoy".

How many times are you going to ask this question?

Get over it. There is nothing wrong with pork. The reason that there are references to pork is because at the time there were problems with parasites in the meat. Now we know how to cook it. We also don't do animal sacrifices either.

Helluva loooooooong question, dude.

Pork's a lot cleaner these days then it was...even 50 or so years ago. Standards have changed. Haven't you heard? Pork's the "other white meat."

If we lived our lives today the way people lived 3,000 years ago, you wouldn't even be able to ask your ridiculous question in cyberspace.

Pass the pork!
