ROFL....I've wondered this for years! Ever since I worked as assistant manager for a Domino's years ago! Domino's has since changed the box, to an 8 sized one...but I'm sure logic will say that it's square because making round boxes is a bit hard, especially out of cardboard! The one they use now is the closest I've seen....and it's quite creative actually!

Because square boxes are easier, cheaper and more stackable and the people making the pizza don't have to put them together. Plus, pizzas fit in them.
More ever.... A round pizza box would make it very difficult to get the round pizza out of the box. Even if the box was bigger than the pizza all pizzas are not perfectly round. Also it is very difficult to make a round box. It is much quicker and easier to make a box square rather than round.

1. Circles are the most efficient size for making pizza. And, geometrically, for containing things including space, flour, water, tomatoes and cheese. And mechanically, to produce in the pizza-making process. Ever seen a pizza maker at work? (A real Italian one, not some corporate fake.)

2. Boxes are cheaper to make square.

That is a really good question. I think it has something to do with square boxes being bigger nad more sturdy. But since then they have now come out with some square pizza's.

square boxes are not only easier to make but its cheaper as well so they just use square boxes instead of making things so complicated... plus you can put different size pizzas in a square box just in case your pizza is a little big it will always fit =D later
