I think after awhile it's possible to develop a good relationship with an ex. However, I think some time needs to pass before you try it. Everything needs a chance to settle down again.

Of course it is. There aren't enough people in the World with whom you have shared love to just throw them away. I am extremely happily married for the 2nd time. My ex husband and I remain friends. We don't see each other often but we have a great deal of history and will often call for a catch up chat about our families and mutual friends. We know that we will always be on each others side, we fell out of love, not like! My husband has no problem with this. We are madly in love with each other and he is sophisticated enough not to feel threatened.

It depends - you do have to have a test though. If she could date someone else and you'd be okay with it, you're able to have a relationship because she WILL date someone else.
Unless you're talking about getting back into a romantic relationship and then you maybe have to reexamine the reasons you broke up in the first place. Do the negatives outweigh the postives? If so, probably not the best idea.

Well its ok if you both are not trying to rekindle any past emotions. If you are making friends simply to try to get back to where you were then its not a good idea. However if making friends with her is for simple friendship then i say go for it. we all need friends, its good to be friends with the ones we love the most.
