we are probably part of the most rudest people in the world (with those of tokyo and london).
we say that we don't take our time while walking in the street because we are doing our lives, we have a destination to reach, an aim to touch.
but in fact we don't care about others because we are afraid of then. we are afraid of the whole world so we focus on insignificant things and, as doing so, we forget that we don't care about nothing exept our little interest.
if we stop and talk to someone, this could break the rush in wich consist our life. and if this happen we can see the vacuity of it. but we don't want to see this. we don't want to know, we don't want to remember that we are living an ant's life.
that's why we are afraid of other people while we walk in the street. talking withe someone means have a break. we don't want to have a break while we are running because it could make us become conscious of that we don't have nothing interesting in our day.

23carathead, or whatever her name is, needs to get off the drugs.

New York is a busy place, so we spare with the formalities. If we had nothing to do, we could all sit around and be lazy southerners. But we're busy people helping to support our fair share of the American economy. Meanwhile, the south sits on their cans with their hands out, looking for money from the federal government in order to support the southern region of America, which is the poorest region in America, because they're all so darn lazy.

It's better to be brief and productive, than sickingly friendly and lazy.

I'm from the NJ-NYC Metro area. I think it's because we all live our lives with a destination in mind. People from down south like to stop and chat and are not in that much of a rush. I guess everyone differs depending on where they are from.

we're not rude alright? people up north in china are rude because they shove you without an apology. if you think we are rude, you are terribly mistaken. It wasn't like this before. NY is like a rush hour city. Very busy and very worthy on its time.

I didn't have that experience. Everyone was lovely...very very nice, except for one man on the street. My group was taking pictures and he got agitated that we were doing this on the sidewalk.
