No, a 351 Cleveland is a medium block and the one on the tranny is a small block. If you want to do a lot of modification, then the 351 Cleveland would work. A 302 or 351 Windsor would be closer to fitting what you have.

O.K.folks...Enough is enough!!! A 351 Cleveland is a small block with big block heads. It is NOT in the same family as a 289,302 or 351w.However it has the same bolt pattern for the transmission so a 5.0 (302) bellhousing will bolt right up.You must use a 57 tooth fltwheel to fit inside the bellhousing.I've done all of this with my 69 Mach1.I got a new t-5 from summitt raceing. You can get all of the conversion from Modern Driveline.com.They were a lot of help.Your stock rearend is going to need some help to handle that kind of power.Several people told me that it wouldnt fit,but it does.I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!

If it is a 351c, it should use the same bell housing as the 3.8 and 5.0, if it is a 351m or 400m it uses the 429-460 bell housing.
I wouldn't expect the stock transmission and rear end to last long with the extra torque of a 351. I have a mildly modified 302 in a mustang, and I broke two stock 5 speeds and one 8.8 rear end in 2 years before I put in a 9 inch rear and a top loader 4 speed.

No it will not bolt to the tranny but there are many aftermarket sources for different bell-housings,trannys,motor mounts, etc. Search the Internet on( Ford engine conversions ) and you will see what I mean.I noticed most of the V-6 to V-8 swaps they where staying with the small block Ford instead of the big block and that Cleveland is a big block. It would add some weight up there, it definitely would handle better with a worked up 351 Windsor for weight issues. But obviously you have the Cleveland already. Well check out some of those sites and I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something.Good luck!

Why the hell would you want to ruin a perfectly good Super Coupe? These cars are some of the sweetest cars ford ever built in my opinion. Just leave the 3.8 in it and go to sccoa.com and make that sucker run like hell with all the sweet parts they have for sale

I totally agree with 69 Mach 1 on this. If you know what your doing and have the time and money, do it and make it a beast. Also dont be surprised if you have to do a little modifying on your own. The hard part is figuring out the rear end you want.

do you have cash, car AND ENGINE or just car and DREAM or NONE OF THE ABOVE! Don't lie to us lie to yourself, this is a viable swap provided you dont need to pass any emmissions or mind going to a carb.also how much of the work are you willing AND able to do?handing your keys to a shop and writing a check will cost about $20,000.00 done RIGHT,done by you asuming you have all tools and equipment and buy parts yourself and contract out machining and engine build up NO LESS THAN $4,000.00 , SPEED COSTS MONEY,HOW FAST DO YOU WANT TO GO?!

the 351c probably won't bolt up and in most states is illegal but if you don't care then go right ahead but if it were me i would go with the 351w stronger and lighter block and a lot more aftermarket parts!
