"The biggest disease today is not leprosy or cancer or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted, uncared for, deserted by everybody. The greatest evil is the lack of love and charity, the terrible indifference towards one's neighbour who lives at the roadside, the victim of exploitation, corruption, poverty
and disease."

There are different kinds of love. The one I'm sure you are referring to is a feeling for someone of the opposite sex " a male in your case". To put it in to word (which word really can't describe it int he first place but I'll try for you) that feeling will over whelm you, in a way that ,you will know when it happen. You will not have to ask someone if you are in love you will know. If you have to ask someone if you are in love, question it or wonder if "this is the one" then you are not "in love", It may be just an infatuation. You would do almost "almost" ANYTHING for that person ( exceptions: sell your soul etc. only because your love for Jesus should exceed the love for anyone on earth.) You will only want to spend time with that person and pretty much only that person for quit a long time. Usually if a person is still hanging around that opposite sex that means that they are still looking and unsure. Love is a feeling for someone that will consume you to the point where you could look into that persons eyes and just..... know.

When you get together with someone, even in marriage, it is not for love. You desire each, you lust for each other, but love takes time. It takes development of the couple into a single working unit. As an example, a child does not love a parent. They desire and crave the presence of the parent, but to understand the feeling of love, it takes ten years for the brain to accumulate enough data to begin interpreting what it has learned. This doesn't happen until puberty. After that, for a girl, the process to interpret data is not matured until age 24, 30 for boys. Be patient. The day will come when you will understand what love is. You will know it in your heart, and not just your mind. It is the point at which a hormone is produced that causes your heart to crave that special person (your husband), or persons (your children) above all other things. Its primary purpose is to bond you closely to your children, with the man secondary. In men, its purpose is to bond him to the mother of his children, with the children secondary. He places his protective shield over her, while her shield is over the children, thus they have two shields to protect them.

If you mean love between a boy and a girl, then I would say love is a strong feeling of affection and desire for the one who you like the most.

You just need to grow up, love yourself first before you can understand what loving someone means.
