I recommend Shell Island. That's a fun place to camp. The road connecting the island to Wales gets covered by the tide in the evenings, until the morning. You can stand in the road while it gets flooded, and it rises up to about shin height. It's near Harlech and Harlech Castle.

Shell Island also has a fantastic beach, a camp shop, with lots of goodies, and other amenities.

Having read the previous answers don't take any notice of their negativity. Wales is a beautiful country with miles of wonderful sandy beaches, rivers, waterfalls and mountains. Some of the people are a bit grumpy, especially as you go further north, they break into their own language which even those from the south can't understand. Don't let anything put you off, head to the Gower, it's truly breathtaking. And no I am not Welsh, I do not work for the Welsh Tourist Board I have moved here, by choice from that manic country next door, England. Have a lovely holiday and don't forget your suncream because the weather is gorgeous.
