Catnip, and it's relatives are all a part of the mint family. Native to the UK and northern Europe, catnip can now be found growing wild in many other areas, to which it has been imported over the years.

they generally put it in cat toys aswell

I've never heard of catnip being in an oil form myself.

garlic works well....you can also take a garlic pill....that works well also....

i also heard that if you rub bounce the dryer sheets on you..it repells them as well...

not sure about catnip!
