For mothers... do you feel immediattely the effects of breastfeeding to yourself, well other than the baby?

I'm not sure what "effects" you are asking about.
I breastfed all three of my children. It was some of the best times I spent with them as babies.

What kinds of effects do you mean?
For the first few days of breastfeeding, the baby really doesnt get much milk, in fact they lose a little bit of weight. It's mainly the colestrum (sorry about spelling) which provides the best nutriants and antibodies for bub.
Most women get the afterpains each time they breastfeed, it contracts the uterus, so usually your belly will go down a lot quicker if you breastfeed.

Yes, you can feel the effects of the hormones that relax you while you are nursing.

Many of the other benefits to mom are things you don't "feel" such as reductions in rates of cancer.
