An error pops up abt the winlogon.exe....
"Winlogon.exe - Bad Image. The application or dll C:\Windows\System32\wintrust.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."

This is the error i get and once i click OK (which is the only option provided) the computer restarts and the same thing happends.....

Anyone's will to help is appreciated...

It seems the whole OS has gone corrupted. Get another HDD (friends HDD) back up your data. Format and reinstall the OS. Thentransfer the data back again and return the HDD. Problem resolved. The reason i suggested format reinstall was as repair of OS did not work with you.

have you tried to login in safe mode?

Just after powering on press the F8 button on the keyboard.A logon option screen will appear.Select "Start with safe mode". When the system boots up give the administrator password and login. Backup relevent data.

Insert windows XP cd and run setup from it.It will ask for repair or new install...select new install & follow instructions.

Hope it works... :)

Hopefully, you'll get some real gurus to answer your question. I ran across the same thing with a friend's computer. We ended up reformatting by doing a clean install and losing all the information. I'm sure there are solid solutions - did you check the MS website? Good luck, and when you get her back, remember. . .backup, backup, backup.

Perhaps too many super mocha latte expresso capachinos is the problem. Go decaf, and that should fix it.
