Astrology is as old as Jesus, actually older than that. And astrology is a map for what your life could be. It is always a choice. The Magi were astrologers who followed the Star which it its believed was a conjunction of planets.( A conjunction is when the planets are lined up with one another). Palmistry and Tarot are different. If a person has any psychic ability(also known as 2nd sight) but most of the time people in store fronts are just trying to get your money. So the answer is be careful, some are real and some are not. Usually the ones who are real are found through word of mouth. John Edwards is real, he does talk to people who have passed over. I know many people who have had readings with him. Usually the better practitioners of these things are very spiritual. but like anything else you must be careful as many are not.

Yes and no...there is no truth in the deception of these practices. While, indeed, one could use these various venues to try and what? Guage the future, find enlightenment or be entertained and astounded by the paranormal...its all a facade. There is no real power there..except that which can screw with your mental, emotional and spiritual well being. Have you ever watched John Edwards show "Crossing Over". The guy is a quack dealing in the vagueries of human existance and a keen ability to read people...He'll just throw the standard loose end out there and hope someone grabs it up...he has a method..but there are no real particulars of anything substancial that he can give anyone and I'll tell you why. When you are dealing with the metaphysical you are not dealing with people..ie; Grandma Jones or great uncle Pete....or your long lost buddy from the fifth grade who died falling off a barn roof..you are dealing with Demons. Yes, read the story of Saul and the Witch of Endor. Scary stuff. Why is it thus? Because...when you die, when anyone dies..they are dead. Where ever your carcus lands and you take your last dying breath..that's the end of you. Your remains are buried or incinerated or whatever and you cease. We do not each have our own little individual immortal spirit that floats off into oblivion or hangs around drifting listlessly through time and space...we are alive by the Spirit of God and when we die..that Spirit of Life leaves us. So in effect..at the resurrection when Christ returns we are asked to trust that we will be remade from the earth that the first man was formed from. That will be you..and you will then be given either eternal life or you will be destroyed with the rest of everything depending on if you choose God in this life or not. So, when you consult the dead, mediums and what not...you are relying not on the God that created you but on all the other forces out there trying to distract you from the one true trustworthy creator...Jesus Christ. It is through Him that we live, move and have our being, through Him all things were made and for Him were all things created. So if you are consulting the principalities outside of that...you are giving them leverage into your life that you might well want to think twice about. Once a demon is established in your realm of existance..its a long shot how difficult it will be for you to believe what it would take to dislodge it. You've invited it there. Don't do it. It will be subtle at first..but before you know it...your life could fall apart and you will find yourself attacked...especially the more you are inclined to get your heart right with God. You only need one Spirit in your life..ONE. The Holy Spirit. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

I work in a metaphysical shop and we offer all kinds of services from psychic readings to astrological consultations etc. I didn't use to think there was much to it but over the years I have been convinced that our readers do have some kind of "gift". What I have learned about tarot cards is most of the time the reader doens't even need to use the cards. Most of our readers when doing phone readings don't even pick the cards up. They use them when they have a client in person because what we have seen in general is that clients need to "SEE" the psychic doing something, reading something, to feel they have had a genuine "reading". There is definitely something to astrology. If you can learn it and interpret it, you can really use it to help with relationships and understanding people.
PS> Then there are a lot of cuckoos out there too that say they are something they are not!
Hope this helps!

The bible call these practices curious arts, and warns to stay away from. Why? because they are based on a false reality and in many cases cause the victims to fall into self fulfilling reality. In other words what you believe you get. Since God is the only Spirit in the Universe that knows the future, and He doesn't need an agent to project that truth, then it must be coming from the dark side. These arts are curious and therefore counterfeit. If I was to look at your palm and tell you that you were going to commit suicide tomorrow, and you believed it, then there is a chance it could happen, based on the fact that you thought you were suppose to.
God can get your attention without using mysterious ways, and so called gifted people to talk to you. He is real and therefore does not to read into the stars or nothing else. He is available to be illuminate in your very being and to communicate with you on a constant basis. He is capable of talking to you our of bushes and asses, but the best way is the direct way because other spirit beings can speak to you too and not all have good intentions. Are there gifted people that speak for God? There are prophets that speak for God, but it is God really doing the speaking through the prophets vocal cords. Go to the source.

I play around with it. I do Tarot and soon, runes. I get accurate answers from Tarot. Astrology works too, make sure it's not a fake though.
And those who practice divination? All different kinds of people. No problem really. just something to tell the future with.

hello:}
these are not BELIEFS, tarot cards ,crystals ,palmistry, these are simply tools to awaken your dormant intuition.
astrology is simply the study of planets and the effects and tendencies they have on individuals at the time they were born .
just as the moon pulls the tides so do other planets effect us as well .
those who practice them are simply seekers and searchers .sure there will always be those who abuse these things and act like they KNOW more then the rest of us but honestly anyone with true psychic abilities or strong intuition needs only to use their mind these are simply tools that help us learn interpretation and symbols and understanding .
best to you

Yes there are many things in life, that are true, though we may not understand why.
I don't take anything with out a little skepticism.
But if you are in tuned with Universal energy, then you can tap into alot the knowledge.
Their have been many fakes & cons in these areas that have taken advantage of people. But that doesn't make it all fake. I read tarots, I don't charge. But I've read things in the cards that are so incredibly accurate that it's scarry!
Beware of the charlatans, and seek your own truth. Who knows what you'll find!
Blessed Be....

There are plenty of people who practice it, and believe in it with all their hearts. But people will believe in just about anything.
The best result you can yield from these things are vague and not very helpful. It can be uplifting and inspirational, which is terrific, but you don't need tarot cards etc to accomplish that. Just a big heart. Perhaps you might even want to pay for that but, you're just paying for someone to listen to you.

There is truth to them, the only problem is rooting out the people who do it dishonestly, which is extremely difficult. They're the ones who ruin the rep of the good people that have fully embraced the practice. You know the old saying: It only takes one bad apple to ruin the whole bunch. It's the same with everything else, too.

There are somewhat Truths. The Bible forbids palmistry, "looking for signs and omens"and "foretelling of events". God finds these things disgusting because they deal with spirit ism, or honoring of the dead. Now in the bible, God says that at death, man is unconscious, he knows nothing. He has no emotions or thoughts because he is nonexistent . People use tarot cards, Ouija boards, astrologers for the purpose of speaking to dead loved ones, some claim to have talked to them. Think about it: If God, who cannot lie, says that the dead are unconscious, how are they communicating with these people? The "dead loved ones " are actually the devil and his demons. Remember, they are known to transform as an angel of light. In the past bible times, these rebellious angels took the form of human to have sex with the women of the earth. They specialize in misleading innocent people, preying on them in their time of weakness.
