1. You know nothing of the relationship between God and lucifer, or how that entire thing was handled. Without such knowledge, the example fails to prove your point.
2. Adam's and Eve's sin(s) are provided for by the blood of Christ, which brings about redemption for sins. The "time lapse" does not hinder the action of God.
3. Even when there is forgiveness in a relationship, that doesn't automatically mean total restoration, or that the wrong action will automatically have no consequences. If you beat another person, and they forgive you, they will still have bruises. If you use drugs and alcohol, and ignore your kids for 10 years while doing so, they may forgive you later (when you are sober), but you will still have lost that 10 year span.
I think you do not understand forgiveness. Forgiveness releases the person carrying a burden (hurt, anger, indignation, wounding, etc.) and cancels, in part, a debt. Forgiveness releases the forgiver. It doesn't automatically cause the forgiven to come back into a relationship, or the abuser to stop abusing, or erase natural consequences to actions made by thinking people.
NO, God did not lie. You do not have your story straight!

dhammaisfree,
"Was God a Liar?"
No. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is not a liar.
"When a man asked how many times he should forgive his enemy, Jesus answered 7 x 7 times."
Wrong. He said 7 times 70.
"But God didn't even forgive Lucifer 1 time."
His promise wasn't to Lucifer. What He did with Lucifer was curse him. When you are God, you can decide whether to bless of curse.
"Neither did he forgive Adam and Eve."
Where do you get that? Why would you say that God did not forgive Adam and Eve? I think that He did. All they did was exact judgement upon themselves. Adam and Eve did something that God said not to do. They blew it.
So to go to the conclusion that God would be a liar from that line of thinking shows how shallow you think.
What's wrong with you?

The difference in not being forgiven was that Adam and Eve and Satan were PERFECT. They had no excuse, not like the rest of mankind that are IMPERFECT because of what those three brought upon us. By the way Lucifer is not one of Satan's names. That name was for a king described in the Bible as bad. Satan, Devil, the evil one, and the god of this system of things are all names for the Devil. So God is not a liar. He does forgive us only when we show true repentance for the bad things we do. As for Satan challenging Jehovah God in the garden of Eden, he is allowing mankind to see who we really want to have as ruler over us. After these 6 thousand years have gone by and we are truly in a deep mess I would say we need God and his Kingdom to straighten out all these mistakes that man has brought upon all of us.

1st of all, Jesus answered 70 x 7 not 7 x 7.
Secondly, who told you Adam and Eve weren't forgiven. They may be evicted from Eden but the Bible NEVER said that they were NEVER FORGIVEN. There is one day for judgement. (Acts 17:31) Therefore, they haven't been judged yet.
Lucifer is NOT human. He is an angel. Angels have no weaknesses like humans. So, there is no excuse for them. But Lucifer didn't just sinned. He OPPOSED God. (Isaiah 14:12-14; II Peter 2:11,4)

He never forgave Satan because Satan never asked for forgiveness.
According to Islam, God forgave Adam and Eve. There is even a monument in Saudi Arabia that marks the spot Adam was standing when God forgave him. Adam and Eve asked so God forgave.
God only and always forgives those who ask.

The difference here is in the condition of the sinners. Lucifer, Adam and Eve were all perfect and had perfect knowledge of God and in spite of that, they sinned willfully. Also, never does it say that any of them repented or asked God to forgive them. All men and women since Adam and Eve are conceived in sin as a result of their sins. You could say that Adam and Eve murdered all of us before we were even born because of the fact that we inherit their imperfection. So, Jesus is speaking to sinful mankind about forgiving eachother. We are not perfect, we do not have perfect knowledge. We cannot possibly do perfectly in relation to eachother. So, he says, be merciful to one another due to the fact that you were flawed from the beginning of time. And, that is also why he was willing to give up his perfect human life for us--because he realized we were dying for sins that others committed and he wanted us to have a chance to escape from that inevitable end--death due to inherited sin.

The reason why Jesus say forgive 7x7 times was because we are imperfect and will make mistakes.
But if you had read your bible you would have realize the difference. Satan, Adam, Eve were all PERFECT beings and what ever they do is concidered DELIBERATE because they were perfect beings.
But after they bit from the fruit only then did Adam and Eve slowly started becoming imperfect. It is in the bible read it.

God by no means is a liar. he did have mercy on adam and eve. if he had wanted to he could have gotten angry and destroyed the whole earthg with one swift blow, But intsead God gave adam and eve and mankind an opportunity to live. Thats pretty forgiving. Now that dosent mean that there arent consequences associated with our actions, If I decide to disobey my parents and drivr drunk and have an accident, my parents may forgive me, but the consequences for the actions are unstoppable.
The Bible says there will be a day of Judgement, every thought word and deed will be brought to light. nothing we have said or done is Hid from his Holy eyes. the Ten Commandments will be God's standard, so let's look at a few to see how you will do on Judgement day.
Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and we’ve only looked at three of the Ten Commandments.
What a shock! Nothing you’ve ever done is hid from His holy eyes. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and the Bible says if God Judges you according to your sin you could end up in Hell. That’s not God’s will. He provided a way for you and I to be forgiven.
He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name, so pray something like this: "Dear God, I repent of all of my sins (confess them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Please forgive me and grant me your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."

You don't think Lucifer was forgiven? He was given power and a home! Adam and Eve got the promised punishment and were allowed to live and have knowledge of good and evil just like God promised. He is not a man that He should lie. Be careful and don't mock Him. It angers Him. He is JUST and loving above all other things and HIS LAW is unrefutable. What you think is unforgiveness is JUSTICE.

It only looks this way because you are reading the Old Testament. These are ancient Jewish texts that are not considered to be the word of God by the Jewish religion. The Christian idea that they are the word of God is quite interesting considering that the religion they were borrowed from does not view them as god’s word at all.
You need to wonder where this idea came from.
The New Testament is mostly concerned with the teachings of Jesus. If you think of your self as a Christian then by definition you are a follower of Jesus, therefore you should be reading the part of the bible that deals with the words and actions of Jesus. This part is the New Testament.
Many who think of themselves as Christians largely ignore the more loving inclusive message of the New Testament? The instead submerge them selves in the judgmental text of the Old Testament. This is problematic because the Old Testament is about as close to the opposite of the New Testament as one can get. This creates conflict because it is difficult to see it as a good idea to love your neighbor and smite your enemy at the same time. Ultimately at some level no matter how dim one starts to recognize that this person they are seeing as being their enemy is also their neighbor.
Seems to me that people who call themselves Christians should be focused exclusively on the words and teachings of Jesus that are found in the new testament. If you are a Jew than you should be reading Jewish scripture like the Old Testament. Apparently quite a few people who think of themselves as Christians are not comfortable with the inclusive message of love acceptance and lack of judgment that Jesus’’ message gives us so they revert to the old testament to find something more in line with their way of thinking. These Jewish wannabees need to stop calling themselves Christians and think up a name for what they really are.
