I've watched this movie several times. Yeah, I'm a sentimental old fart, but I've survived three times being nearly killed. Blown 100-yards out of a semi truck, had a semi truck laid on me, and ran a 105.5 temp for two weeks, on life support for six weeks, after a child gave me a resistant form of strep throat. Sorry, never saw any white light. Since surviving these, I've strived to pay it forward.

I hate to say this, but I hated the movie! Not the idea, its a good one! But When ideas and adults needs become more important than a childs wellfare and life, then I get sick.

The story of a boy who was alone. Not one time during the movie did I se his needs being taken care of by the people around him. And I know many people find it beautiful that he still was kind and loving and took care of everybody.

But it makes me sick, `course it should be the other way aroud. And to let this movie end with all the adults getting together supporting eachother and no reflection on how they messed this little boys life up. Sorry - I dont by it!

Awesome movie!!! I have recommended it on the board a few times. Yes, I try to pay it forward, it's my nature and always has been. My favorite thing to do is go to the grocery store and do the 'buy one get one free' deals, and give the free ones to people in the parking lot (usually the elderly or people with a bunch of kids). I also fix computers for free and ask nothing except that the person do something nice for someone else. What a great movie.

I've had two 'near deaths' '69 and '72. I guess I'm lucky to be here (as you are). I didn't see the light, but I did experience the floating above my body in 69. It's definitely life changing.

What a heartwarming, tragic movie. I've wondered what a marvellous world this would be in people lived by rules like that, but I must confess I've never really tried to put a plan like that into place in my own life. I help people where and when I can, but I don't keep track.

I will do things for people and just tell them that I 'know' they will pay it forward some day. I don't keep track if it but I know that some of them will. Some of them won't but that is the way the universe is. I do it for me as well as for them.

Nice question.

I've believed in the "pay it forward" approach since before seeing the movie. Best of all, it works : )
